755). The Bal ic e m was p obably adop ed in o he Bal o-Fennic languages:
Finnish, Olone s, Veps, Vo ic, Es onian me i, Ka elian meŕi, Li onian meŕ ‘sea’.
The umlau *a > *e has analogy in Finnish eki ‘sledge’, Ka elian, Olone s egi,
