used. In Li huania, o in Li huanian, Li huanianized o ms o non-Li huanian names a e
usually used […] and he Li huanianiza ion consis s only in he ac ha he name is
assigned o a ce ain s em class by adding an ending and hus made lexible. Such
Li huanianiza ions a e no app op ia e in a Ge man edi ion. In Ge man scien i ic
li e a u e, i is p ima ily he ac ually a es ed o ms o names ha a e ci ed. In
conc e e e ms, his means ha i a Pole, bu also a Li huanian om he G and
Duchy (and e en i only polonized by he cle ks o he au ho i ies) basically only uses
a Polish (and o La in) o m o he name in he sou ces, hen one should use his one
and no a Li huanian (al hough econs uc ed wi h good easons) (excep ions may
be in e na ionally common Li huanian o ms o he names o well-known people such
as Ma ynas Maž ydas e c.). This is all he mo e ue i he Li huanian o m o he
name is uncommon in he Ge man-speaking wo ld: Radziwiłł(ł) is known […] bu

would be desi able, in he case o such ansla ions, ha he o iginal quo e be
