Dictionary of Musical Performance Directions / Petras Jokubauskas. – Vilnius: Mokslo ir enciklopedijų leidybos centras, 2019. – 181, [3] p.: ill. – Bibliogr.: p. 24–26. – Print run 250 copies. – ISBN 978-5-420-01813-2.
The glossary presents the most commonly used contemporary and historical musical performance directions. The publication is intended both for professionals—composers, performers, conductors, and teachers—and for music enthusiasts. The theoretical section following the foreword defines the term musical performance direction, distinguishes and describes in detail the groups of performance directions, and explains how they are presented. The publication consists of three parts: an English–Italian–French–German–Lithuanian glossary; a Russian–Lithuanian glossary, set apart because of its non-Latin alphabet; and a reverse Lithuanian–Italian glossary, compiled because Italian is the most widespread language in the field of music. At the end of the glossary is a list of frequently used abbreviations for musical performance directions. A short biography of the author appears on the back-cover flap.
