INTRODUCTION
Kampimod omus Nesbi (Aca i: Phy oseiidae) species a e
gene alis p eda o s p edominan ly li ing on pubescen
lea es and exhibi ing "Type IIIa" eeding beha io
(McMu y e al., 2013). Kampimod omus abe ans
(Oudemans, 1930), which was he i s species desc ibed,
is widely dis ibu ed, ha ing been documen ed ac oss
a ious a eas o he Wes e n Palea c ic Region and he
USA (Demi e e al., 2014). In Eu ope, his species is na u-
ally ound on a b oad ange o cul i a ed plan s, includ-
ing g apes, hazelnu s and apples, and is conside ed an
e icien p eda o o phy ophagous mi es (Kasap, 2005;
Ozman-Sulli an, 2006; Duso e al., 2014).
In Tü kiye, i e species o he genus — K. abe ans, K.
e icinus Ragusa Di Chia a and Tsolakis, 1994, K. keae (Pa-
padoulis and Emmanouel, 1991), K. langei Wains ein and
A u unjan, 1973 and K. agusai Swi ski and Ami ai, 1997
— ha e been epo ed, based on specimens collec ed
om a ious hos plan s, especially om Que cus spp.
(Fagaceae) (Kasap, 2005, 2010; Ozman-Sulli an, 2006;
Döke e al., 2017, 2018; Sağlam e al., 2022).
In his s udy, we collec ed K. co ylosus Kolodochka, 2003
om hazelnu [Co ylus a ellana L. (Be ulaceae)] in Sam-
sun P o ince on he Black Sea coas o Tü kiye. I is e-
desc ibed and illus a ed, based on emale specimens, o
u he imp o e diagnosis. We also p opose he ein-
s a emen o K. ad ianae Fe agu and Peña-Es é ez, 2003
as a alid species. Mo eo e , we p o ide a e ised iden i-
ica ion key o he Kampimod omus species o he wo ld.
MATERIALS AND METHODS
Lea es we e collec ed om hazelnu plan s in he Gü -
genya ak/Canik dis ic o Samsun P o ince on he no h
coas o Tü kiye. The collec ed samples we e w apped in
pape , placed in labelled plas ic bags, and s o ed in an
icebox un il hey we e ans e ed o he labo a o y. The
lea es we e hen examined o mi es unde a s e eomi-
c oscope and all collec ed mi es we e s o ed in 70% alco-
hol un il hey we e clea ed in 60% lac ic acid and moun -
ed on slides in Hoye ’s medium. The slides we e hen
incuba ed a 50 °C o a week. Pe manen slides we e
examined wi h an Olympus® CX-41 mic oscope. Illus a-
ions we e p epa ed wi h a U-Da d awing a achmen
(Came a Lucida). The axonomic sys em used ollowed
ha o Chan and McMu y (2007), wi h se al nomencla-
u e acco ding o Lindquis and E ans (1965), as adap ed
by Rowell e al. (1978). The do sal and en al se al pa -
e n e e ences we e om Chan and Yoshida-Shaul
(1989, 1991, 1992), he nomencla u e o solenos omes
on he do sal idiosoma ollowed ha o A hias-Hen io
(1975), and he leg chae o axy ollowed ha o E ans
(1963). Measu emen s a e p o ided in mic ome e s, p e-
sen ed as he mean, ollowed by he ange in pa en heses.
The examined specimens a e deposi ed in he mi e collec-
ion o he Aca ology Labo a o y, Cuku o a Uni e si y,
Adana, Tü kiye.
RESULTS AND DISCUSSION
Fi s ly, Kampimod omus co ylosus, which is epo ed om
Tü kiye o he i s ime, is edesc ibed om emale
specimens collec ed in Samsun P o ince. Secondly, a jus i-
ica ion o he eins a emen o K. ad iane as a alid spe-
cies is p o ided. Thi dly, a e ised key o Kampimod o-
mus species is included o e lec ha change.
Diagnosis and edesc ip ion o Kampimod omus co y-
losus Kolodochka
Kampimod omus co ylosus Kolodochka, 2003: 51.

(18–24), Z4 40 (37–43), Z5 52 (49–55), s4 43 (38–47), S2
44 (40–48), S5 18 (17–20), 3 40 (38–42), and R1 25 (23–

se ae (JV1, JV2, and ZV2), one pai o pa a-anal se ae PA,
unpai ed pos -anal se a PST, and a pai o minu e so-
lenos omes (g 3) pos e omedian o JV2. Leng h o en i-
anal shield 92 (89–94), wid h a le el o ZV2 54 (50–58).

Chelice a (Fig. 1C). Fixed digi 24 (23–25) long, wi h h ee

Spe ma heca (Fig. 1D). Calyx sho , cup-shaped, 8 (6–10)
long, a ium nodula , connec ed o calyx wi hou neck,

Legs (Figs 2A-D). Leg I 262 (260–264), II 209 (205–213),
III 195 (190–200), IV 279 (265–286) in leng h. Chae o-
axy o legs as ollows: Leg I: coxa 0 0/1 0/1 0, ochan e
1 0/1 0/2 1, emu 2 3/1 2/2 2, genu 2 2/1 2/1 2, ibia 2
2/1 2/1 2. Leg II: coxa 0 0/1 0/1 0, ochan e 1 0/1 0/2

Discussion. Kampimod omus co ylosus was desc ibed
om specimens mos ly collec ed om hazelnu , C. a ella-
na, in Uk aine and Moldo a. The cu en s udy epo s K.
co ylosus o he i s ime om Tü kiye. The mo phologi-
cal cha ac e s and measu emen s o he newly collec ed
specimens a e almos iden ical o he o iginal desc ip ion
and edesc ip ions (Ca gnus e al., 2012; Döke e al.,
2022). We e-examined he Belgian specimens epo ed
by Döke e al. (2022) and con i m ha he measu e-
men s o do sal se a j3 a e no 21 (21–22) bu 31 (31–32).
Also, he p eanal solenos omes in he Belgian specimens
a e small and ci cula , no c escen ic, as in he o iginal
desc ip ion and he edesc ip ion p o ided he e.
No es on he iden i ica ion key o he genus Kampi-
mod omus
The iden i ica ion key p o ided in his s udy o 16 spe-
cies o Kampimod omus is based on he p e ious key by
Döke e al. (2017). Howe e , in he p esen s udy, we
esu ec ed K. ad ianae o alid species s a us and includ-
ed i in he key due o he dis inc di e ences in i s do sal
se al leng h especially o do socen al se ae and se a-
ions on j4, j5, j6, J2, Z5, Z1 and S5. Tixie e al. (2006)
suspec ed ha K. ad ianae is a junio synonym o K.
hmiminai McMu y and Boun ou , 1989 based on COI
sequences om popula ions collec ed om Salix cana -
iensis Ch . Sm. ex Link (Salicaceae) in he Cana y Islands
and Ficus ca ica L. (Mo aceae) in Meknes, Mo occo. The
same au ho s s a ed ha he gene ic dis ance be ween
hese wo species was simila o he dis ance be ween
wo popula ions o K. abe ans which we e collec ed om
Cel is aus alis L. (Ulmaceae) and Que cus pubescens Willd.
(Fagaceae) in Mon pellie , F ance. Howe e , Döke e al.
(2018) used ou species o Kampimod omus o cons uc
a phylogene ic ee based on hei ITS sequences and he
sequences a ailable in he GenBank da abase. The phylo-
gene ic ee o Döke e al. (2018) showed ha he se-
quence, HQ404798, deposi ed as K. abe ans, o igina ing
om a popula ion collec ed om C. aus alis in Mon pel-
lie , F ance is iden ical o K. co ylosus. The e o e, a leas
one o he wo K. abe ans popula ions iden i ied by Tixie
e al. (2006) is likely o be K. co ylosus. This si ua ion ap-
pea s o nega e he a gumen o Tixie e al. (2006) ha
he gene ic di e ence be ween K. hmiminai and K. ad i-
anae is he same as ha be ween wo popula ions o K.
