expanding manu ac u ing capabili ies, and boos ing
expo s.
India’s au omobile indus y is one o he la ges in
he wo ld, con ibu ing signi ican ly o GDP and
employmen . This pape explo es he e ec s o FDI
on he indus y, ocusing on i s ole in enhancing
p oduc i i y, inc easing expo s, gene a ing
employmen , and os e ing sus ainabili y. The
analysis aims o p o ide insigh s in o how FDI has
shaped he au omobile sec o and i s implica ions
o India's economic ajec o y.

au omobile indus y ecei ed $33.77 billion in FDI,
accoun ing o nea ly 6% o o al FDI in lows
(Robe & Ni mala, 2023).
