(gene al p ac i ione s and nu ses) in he Eme gency Room o C Regional Gene al Hospi al. Apa om ha , he aim o his esea ch
is o de e mine he e ec o wo kload on Wo k-Li e Balance. The esea ch me hod uses a quan i a i e app oach and he analysis
echniques used a e desc ip i e analysis and simple linea eg ession analysis. The sou ce o his esea ch uses p ima y da a. Da a
collec ion in his esea ch used a ques ionnai e. The sample o his esea ch was 40 medical pe sonnel in he Eme gency Room o
C Regional Gene al Hospi al. Based on he es esul s, i shows ha he wo kload in he Eme gency Room o C Regional Gene al
Hospi al is included in he su icien ca ego y which is desc ibed by a o al sco e o 1214, indica ing ha he wo kload le el is qui e
high bu can s ill be ole a ed well by medical pe sonnel, Wo k-Li e Balance o medical pe sonnel in he Eme gency Room o C
Regional Gene al Hospi al is in he su icien ca ego y which is desc ibed wi h a o al sco e o 1720, indica ing ha medical
pe sonnel can manage hei ime and ene gy well be ween wo k demands and pe sonal needs. Wo kload a ec s he Wo k-Li e
Balance o medical pe sonnel in he Eme gency Room o C Regional Gene al Hospi al. Wo kload has an in luence o 77.6% on
Wo k-Li e Balance, while he emaining 22.4% is in luenced by o he unobse ed a iables.

I. INTRODUCTION
Hospi al is a heal hca e ins i u ion ha p o ides comp ehensi e indi idual heal h se ices. A high-quali y hospi al o e s
p o essional and excellen heal hca e o he public. The success o a hospi al's heal hca e se ices depends hea ily on he quali y o
i s heal hca e s a . Heal hca e s a a e a i al componen o heal hca e se ices. (Vic o ia, 2022).
Wo king in a hospi al, pa icula ly in he Eme gency Depa men , equi es bo h echnical and non- echnical skills. Howe e ,
he high numbe o Eme gency Room pa ien s equi ing ca e is disp opo iona e o he numbe o medical pe sonnel. This impac s
he quali y o eme gency ca e and pa ien sa e y (He yana e al., 2020). Fac o s ha can in luence se ices in he Eme gency Room
include: 1) pa ien cha ac e is ics; 2) s a placemen ; 3) s e che s, os ums and o he equipmen used o mo e pa ien s o
ambulances o beds); 4) heal h wo ke s, pa ien a i al ime; 5) managemen implemen a ion; 6) examina ion s a egies; 7) selec ed
ea men ; 8) leng h o se ice; 9) educa ion; and 10) wo kload (Minis e o Heal h o he Republic o Indonesia, 2009). Medical
pe sonnel in he Eme gency Room mus be able o ca ego ize pa ien s based on hei le el o eme gency. The e a e s ic egula ions
ega ding he eme gency esponse ime, which is app oxima ely i e minu es. The expec ed ime om ecei ing eme gency
ea men o being admi ed o he wa d is a maximum o wo hou s. This can be easily achie ed i pa ien s a i e a di e en imes.
O en, i e o en pa ien s a i e a he same ime, c ea ing an imbalance be ween he numbe o pa ien s and heal hca e wo ke s in
he eme gency oom.
Resea ch on heal hca e wo ke s shows ha di icul y balancing wo k and home li e inc eases he desi e o lea e he job (S. M
e al., 2004). Wo k-Li e Balance in heal hca e wo ke s has been shown o be associa ed wi h men al heal h issues. (N. M e al.,
2011). The implemen a ion o Wo k-Li e Balance impac s he e ec i eness, e iciency, and accoun abili y o employees,
pa icula ly in hospi al o ganiza ions, pa icula ly medical pe sonnel who ca e o pa ien s almos e e y ime. Medical pe sonnel a e
key o he quali y o heal hca e se ices. The be e implemen a ion o Wo k-Li e Balance concep s wi hin a hospi al o ganiza ion,
he g ea e he hospi al's e ec i eness (Wo ld Heal h O ganiza ion, 2006). In addi ion o job du ies, a busy and con inuous wo k
schedule can make i di icul o employees o good in e ac wi h hei amilies when hey e u n home due o a igue. Di icul y
eques ing lea e and limi ed aca ion days can also make i di icul o employees o achie e Wo k-Li e Balance.

e e al cen e in he ci y) is d aining due o he high numbe o pa ien isi s. The wo kload is some imes high, bu wo k a ge s
s ill achie ed. Regula ions o pa ien ans e s o he inpa ien oom hasn’ op imal, esul ing in equen accumula ion o pa ien s
in he Eme gency Room, which causes p essu e om pa ien s and hei amilies o mo e immedia ely o he inpa ien oom. P essu e
om supe io s o ea pa ien s p omp ly can some imes inc ease he wo kload o medical s a . Some medical s a ha e e en
ecei ed complain s om pa ien s and hei amilies ega ding eme gency oom se ices. These pa ien s and amilies complain ha

uncom o able o ex ended pe iods. Medical pe sonnel also s uggle o es be ween shi s. Mos medical pe sonnel also ha e
amilies, so he ene gy expended a wo k o en lea es hem exhaus ed upon e u ning home. Medical pe sonnel eel hey can s ill
socialize well and unc ion e ec i ely a home wi h hei amilies. Despi e eeling i ed, medical pe sonnel emain en husias ic
abou wo king and spending ime wi h hei amilies. Medical pe sonnel s ill ind ime o amily and hobbies wi h iends. As a
esul , hey eel hey main ain a good balance be ween hei wo k and pe sonal li es.

inc ease he wo kload which has an impac on educing he Wo k-Li e Balance o medical pe sonnel. Based on he backg ound o
he p oblem abo e, he au ho is in e es ed in conduc ing a s udy en i led The In luence o Wo kload on he Wo k-Li e Balance o
Medical Pe sonnel in he Eme gency Room o he C Regional Gene al Hospi al.
II. LITERATUR REVIEW
A. Human Resou ce Managemen
Human esou ce managemen , also known as human esou ce de elopmen , handles human esou ce planning,
implemen a ion, ec ui men (including selec ion), aining, employee ca ee de elopmen , and aking ac ions o encou age
o ganiza ional g ow h. The p ima y goal o human esou ce managemen is o inc ease o ganiza ional p oduc i i y by imp o ing
employee e iciency and ea ing employees as aluable esou ces o he company (Me is & e al., 2024). Human esou ce
managemen is esponsible o complying wi h employmen egula ions, inc easing employee sa is ac ion, and p omo ing pe sonal
ad ancemen . The e o e, human esou ce managemen ocuses on hese h ee main aspec s o achie e a balance be ween
o ganiza ional goals and needs and employee goals and needs (Me is & e al., 2024).

which he o ganiza ion ca ies ou all i s co e asks o achie es all i s goals (Se ya o, 2017).
B. O ganiza ional Beha io
O ganiza ional beha io is o med om he beha io o indi iduals wi hin he o ganiza ion. The scope o he s udy o
o ganiza ional beha io is limi ed o he in e nal dimensions o an o ganiza ion. Aspec s ha a e elemen s o o ganiza ional beha io
include mo i a ion, leade ship, s ess and/o con lic , ca ee de elopmen , ewa d sys em issues, communica ion ela ionships,
p oblem sol ing and decision making, p oduc i i y and/o pe o mance, sa is ac ion, o ganiza ional de elopmen and de elopmen .
Gi en he in e ac ions o ela ionships be ween indi iduals wi hin an o ganiza ion, o ganiza ional beha io mus be add essed

human esou ces app oach aims o help employees pe o m be e , become mo e esponsible, and hen s i e o c ea e a posi i e

C. Wo kload
Wo kload is a collec ion o numbe o ac i i ies ha mus be comple ed by an o ganiza ional uni o posi ion holde wi hin a
speci ic ime ame. The wo kload assigned o employees mus be balanced wi h hei compe encies and abili ies; o he wise, soone
o la e , p oblems will a ise ha can dis up hei pe o mance (Rohman & Ichsan, 2021). The e a e ou dimensions o wo kload:

Wo k-Li e Balance is he balance be ween an employee's e o , skills, and ime spen on wo k- ela ed esponsibili ies and
hei pe sonal li e, including leisu e ime, heal h, and social ac i i ies, wi hou eeling o e whelmed. Achie ing Wo k-Li e Balance
is a op p io i y o gene a ing employee p oduc i i y and sa is ac ion wi hin an o ganiza ion (Ma ques & Be y, 2021). Fac o s ha
in luence Wo k-Li e Balance a e indi idual ac o s, o ganiza ional ac o s, and socie al in luencing ac o s. Fishe , Bulge , and
Smi h in (Wicaksana e al., 2020) said ha he e a e ou componen s o Wo k-Li e Balance ha a e he basis o de eloping a
Wo k-Li e Balance measu emen ool ha is classi ied in o ou dimensions namely:
1) WIPL (Wo k In e ence wi h Pe sonal Li e);
2) PLIW (Pe sonal Li e In e ence wi h Wo k);
3) PLEW (Pe sonal Li e Enhancemen o Wo k);
4) WEPL (Wo k Enhancemen o Pe sonal Li e).

The e ec o wo kload on Wo k-Li e Balance is how wo kload in a company can di ec ly impac pe sonal li e. Resea ch
demons a ed ha wo kload has a signi ican nega i e e ec on Wo k-Li e Balance (Nu wahyuni, 2019). This means ha i he
wo kload inc eases, Wo k-Li e Balance will dec ease, and ice e sa. O he esea ch also demons a ed ha wo kload has a
signi ican nega i e e ec on Wo k-Li e Balance (Makhmu , 2020).
III. RESEARCH METHOD
The esea ch me hod used in his s udy is quan i a i e me hod wi h a desc ip i e and e i ica ion app oach. A quan i a i e
me hod is a me hod o esea ching a speci ic popula ion o sample, collec ing quan i a i e da a wi h he aim o es ing a
p ede e mined hypo hesis. A desc ip i e app oach is de ined as a me hod used o ind answe s o esea ch ques ions ega ding he
alidi y o a a iable, whe he i be one o mo e a iables (Sugiyono, 2019). In his s udy, he desc ip i e me hod was used o
de e mine he wo kload and Wo k-Li e Balance o medical pe sonnel in he Eme gency Room o he C Regional Gene al Hospi al.
The de ini ion o he e i ica ion app oach me hod is a esea ch ha is inqui ing be ween wo o mo e a iables (Sugiyono, 2019).
This s udy uses a e i ica ion me hod because i is based on he esea ch objec i e, namely o de e mine he e ec o wo kload on
he Wo k-Li e Balance o medical pe sonnel in he Eme gency Room o he C Regional Gene al Hospi al.
A esea ch a iable is any hing in any o m ha a esea che de e mines o be s udied o ob ain in o ma ion abou i and hen
d aw conclusions (Sugiyono, 2019). The e a e wo esea ch a iables: he dependen a iable and he independen a iable. The
dependen a iable is he a iable ha depends on o he a iables, while he independen a iable is he a iable ha does no depend
on o he a iables.
In his s udy, he ope a ional a iables o be examined a e:
1. Independen a iable: Wo kload (X)
2. Dependen a iable: Wo k-Li e Balance (Y)
Popula ion is a comple e g oup o elemen s ha a e usually people, objec s, ansac ions, o e en s, which he au ho is
in e es ed in s udying o making hem he objec o esea ch. Popula ion is a gene aliza ion a ea consis ing o objec s/subjec s ha
ha e ce ain quali ies and cha ac e is ics de e mined by he esea che o be s udied and hen conclusions d awn (Sugiyono, 2019).
The popula ion in his s udy was 40 medical pe sonnel a he Eme gency Room o he C Regional Gene al Hospi al, consis ing o
16 gene al p ac i ione s and 24 nu ses (including he head o he IGD oom). The sample used in his s udy was ob ained using a
non-p obabili y sampling echnique wi h sa u a ed sampling. The esea che used his sampling echnique because he popula ion
was 40 people (Sugiyono, 2019). Sa u a ed sampling is sampling when he en i e popula ion is used as a sample and is also known

(A ikun o, 2016). The e o e, in his s udy, he sample aken o his s udy was 40 employees a he Eme gency Room o he C
Regional Gene al Hospi al, consis ing o 16 gene al p ac i ione s and 24 nu ses. The da a sou ce o his s udy is p ima y da a.
P ima y da a was ob ained h ough ques ionnai es adminis e ed o medical pe sonnel wi h he po en ial o con ibu e.
IV. RESULT AND DISCUSSION
The esul s o he s udy on he In luence o Wo kload on he Wo k-Li e Balance o medical pe sonnel in he Eme gency Room
o a C Regional Gene al Hospi al used da a analysis de i ed om p ima y da a by dis ibu ing ques ionnai es (in he o m o Google
Fo ms) ha had been es ed o alidi y and eliabili y be o e he s udy began. The sample used in his s udy was 40 employees in
he Eme gency Room o a C Regional Gene al Hospi al. The numbe o comple ed ques ionnai es was 40 copies. A e e i ica ion,
om all collec ed ques ionnai es, all s a emen i ems we e illed ou comple ely. Thus, all 40 copies o he ques ionnai e could be
p ocessed. The sampling echnique used in his s udy was o al sampling. Based on hese da a, he au ho p ocessed he da a using
desc ip i e analysis o de e mine esponden s's esponses o each a iable s udied, hen con inued wi h e i ica ion analysis wi h
simple eg ession o analyze he e ec o Wo kload on Wo k-Li e Balance.

Based on Table 1, 17 (42.5%) employees a e male and 23 (57.5%) employees a e emale. This indica es ha he majo i y o

Based on Table 2, 9 employees (22.5%) a e aged 20-25, 23 (57.5%) a e aged 26-35, 7 (17.5%) a e aged 36-45, and 1 (2.5%)
is aged 46 and o e . These da a indica e ha he majo i y o medical pe sonnel in he Eme gency Room C Regional Gene al Hospi al
a e aged 26-35. The 26-35 age ange is conside ed a p oduc i e age. Du ing his p oduc i e age, wo k en husiasm and mo i a ion
a e gene ally high. High mo i a ion and en husiasm con ibu e o well-managed wo kloads, hus main aining a heal hy wo k-li e
balance. Fu he mo e, wo king in a eam wi h colleagues o a p oduc i e age g oup os e s s ong solida i y, making wo k enjoyable.
