Ad ances in In o ma ion and Communica ion
Technology (ICT) ha e b ough abou emendous
changes in he eaching and lea ning p ocess. Sel -
di ec ed lea ning esou ces in a ious ields a e
inc easing he end owa d sel -s udy. Sel -di ec ed
lea ning p ocesses a e desc ibed as lea ne s' inna e
abili y o manage hei lea ning p ocess, iewing
hemsel es as he sou ce o hei own decisions and
ac ions as esponsible o hei li elong lea ning. (Se-
Yeng and Hussain 2010). Open Educa ional
Resou ces (OERs) ha e p o en hemsel es as
essen ial pla o m o enhancing sel -lea ning by
p o iding s udy ma e ials, cou se no es, and
in e ac i e ideos o ee s udy pu poses om
epu ed ins i u ions and academicians. Among he
ew ecognised OERs, e-PG Pa hshala has had a
massi e impac on he g ow h, p omo ion, and
ad ancemen o e-lea ning in India. I is an e-lea ning
pla o m suppo ed by he Uni e si y G an s
Commission h ough he INFLIBNET Cen e and
unded by MHRD, Go e nmen o India. I ac s as a
ga eway o all pos g adua e-le el cou ses. The e-PG
School de elops e-con en in nea ly 70 subjec s a he
pos g adua e le el, including high-quali y,
cu iculum-based, c oss-disciplina y in e ac i e
con en ac oss social sciences, a s, ine a s and
humani ies, and na u al and ma hema ical sciences.
The p esen s udy a emp s o analyze he s a us o e-
con en modules.
2. Re iew o Li e a u e
OER, Open Cou sewa e (OCW), o Massi e Open
Online Cou ses (MOOCs) in collabo a ion wi h e-
lea ning is no a new a ea o esea ch, al hough he e
is a huge lack o awa eness abou Indian OER
pla o ms such as e-PG Pa hshala. Discussed below
a e some po en ial s udies ha a emp o pain a
pic u e o he s a e o Indian OER and e-lea ning
pla o ms ega ding e-PG schools:
Maha aj (2018), in his pape "S udy on he Role o e-
PG Schools in he De elopmen o e-lea ning",
de ines he meaning o e-lea ning, he objec i es and

4. Scope and Limi a ions o S udy
The scope o he s udy ex ends o all 67 subjec
ca ego ies (ac ual numbe = 70, bu da a o h ee
ields a e missing om E-PG s a is ics) o e-PG
schools, which a e mainly di ided in o wo b oad
ca ego ies. STEMM (Science, Technology,
Enginee ing, Medicine, and Managemen ) and AHSS
(A s, Humani ies, and Social Sciences), which a e
u he di ided in o 5 majo subjec ca ego ies. In
addi ion, he s udy es s he exis ence o s a is ical
es s o check he p esence o any co ela ion be ween
pape and module numbe .

This s udy analyses he colla ion, abula ion,
o ganisa ion, e alua ion, and dissemina ion o e-
ma e ials accessed by s uden s and esea che s
h ough he e-PG Pa hshala da abase, wi h a ocus on
geog aphy and ela ed subjec a eas.
Key indings include:
• While e-PG Pa hshala claims o co e
app oxima ely 70 subjec a eas (Table 1), in
eali y, i p o ides da a o only 67 subjec s,
indica ing a gap o h ee ields.
• The subjec s a e b oadly classi ied unde
wo majo acul ies: AHSS (A s,
Humani ies, and Social Sciences) and
STEMM (Science, Technology,
Enginee ing, Ma hema ics, and Medicine).
O he o al uploaded modules, AHSS
accoun s o 15,553 modules (61.52%),
whe eas STEMM co e s 9,730 modules
(38.48%) (Table 2).

8. Conclusion
Open Educa ional Resou ces (OER) a e eely
a ailable eaching, lea ning, and esea ch ma e ials in
any medium ha eside in he public domain o a e
sha ed unde open licenses, allowing access, use,
adap a ion, and edis ibu ion. In highe educa ion,
pla o ms like OCW (Open Cou sewa e) and MOOCs
(Massi e Open Online Cou ses) play a key ole in
ad ancing e-lea ning sys ems globally. In India, he
Go e nmen ’s Na ional Mission on Educa ion
h ough ICT (NMEICT) launched E-PG Pa hshala,
p o iding quali y e-con en o s uden s na ionwide.
This pla o m has de eloped o e 25,283 modules
co e ing STEMM (Science, Technology,
Enginee ing, Ma hema ics, Medicine) and AHSS
(A s, Humani ies, Social Sciences). In e es ingly,
module con ibu ions a e almos double o AHSS
compa ed o STEMM. To b idge his gap, mo e
con en in “Enginee ing, Technology &
Managemen ” and “Bio-Medical & Heal h Sciences”
is essen ial. A UGC-de ined cu iculum and p oac i e
