Inula helenium L., commonly known as elecampane, is a pe ennial he baceous plan belonging
o he As e aceae amily, no able o i s s iking yellow lowe s and dis inc i e la ge lea es. The
ep oduc i e biology o Inula helenium is cha ac e ized by i s he maph odi ic lowe s, which p omo e
sel - e iliza ion while also acili a ing c oss-pollina ion h ough a ious pollina o s, including bees
and bu e lies. This dual mechanism enhances gene ic di e si y, a c ucial ac o o he plan s
adap a ion o di e se en i onmen s. The seeds p oduced a e dispe sed ia wind, allowing o
coloniza ion in a o able habi a s. Mo eo e , he biochemical cons i uen s o Inula helenium,
including bene icial ex ac i es, p esen po en ial applica ions in nu aceu icals and unc ional oods,
