Tsa almpasoglou e alI,2025).
The Region o Sicily es ablished in 1999 (Law 268/27-7-1999) he egula ion o he ‘Wine Roads’, enhancing local wine
p oduc ion h ough o ganized o ganized hospi ali y se ices, cul u al and educa ional ac i i ies, wi h he aim o ag o-
ou ism de elopmen (Manola, 2024).
This expe ience, as Manola & Kol sikoglou e e s (2021) is made mo e comple e by mapping he 13 main wine ou es:

Manola, 2024; Gallo, 2003).

Pezzo i (2012) sees gas onomy as a ‘poli ical weapon’ ha highligh s poli ical dys unc ions, while he use o he
Sicilian dialec , acco ding o Do e (2010), ein o ces cul u al iden i y and bu dens ansla ion wo k wi h he need o
cul u al sensi i i y. Finally, gas onomy in Camille i links aes he ics wi h social and poli ical c i ique, p ojec ing ood as
an exp ession o iden i y and esis ance (Richa ds, 2020).
6. Mon albano and cul u al en ep eneu ship
The case o Sicily is an exempla y example o how cul u al en ep eneu ship can be ans o med in o a d i e o
sus ainable and cul u ally sensi i e de elopmen (Tsa almpasoglou & al, 2025). The island, wi h i s mul ilaye ed
his o ical and cul u al iden i y, p esen s a a ge ed s a egy o exploi ing i s in angible he i age, linking gas onomy,
li e a u e and local p oduc ion wi h con empo a y o ms o ou is expe ience (Richa ds, 2020; Mon ana i, 2006).

2024a).
The ele ision p omo ion o he landscapes o sou heas e n Sicily, pa icula ly Pun a Secca ( he ele ised Viga a), Scicli
and Ragusa, has led o a signi ican inc ease in hema ic ou ism, making he se ies a peculia ‘ ou is agen ’ o cul u al
diplomacy (Pezzo i, 2012). I is a o m o cul u al and gas onomic geopoli ics, whe e li e a u e and ele ision ac i a e
cul u al capi al o he bene i o sus ainable ou ism de elopmen .
O e all, he case o Sicily demons a es how an in eg a ed, sensi i e and cul u ally in o med app oach o he
managemen o local esou ces can p o ide a sus ainable model o egional de elopmen . Cul u al iden i y is no
consumed, bu e-in en ed, ac ing as a c ea i e o ce ha b idges pas , p esen and u u e, always wi h he pa icipa ion
o he communi ies hemsel es (UNESCO, 2021; Mak i and Ke ala, 2021).
In summa y, we unde sco e he signi icance o digi al echnologies in he educa ion ield and hei ole in cul u al
en ep eneu ship aining. In o ma ion and Communica ion Technologies (ICTs) make educa ion accessible o
e e yone, in oduce inno a i e me hods o e ec i e eache aining, enhance knowledge e en ion, acili a e
collabo a ion, boos anspa ency, p omo e lea ne -cen e ed eaching me hods, c ea e new ins uc ional s a egies, and
accele a e knowledge acquisi ion. Mo eo e , hey p o ide inno a i e ways o ep esen ing knowledge and suppo
educa ional ac i i ies h ough mobili y, i ualiza ion, a i icial in elligence, and esh lea ning en i onmen s. In
pa icula , when i comes o en ep eneu ship aining, ICTs ha e demons a ed high e ec i eness, enhancing
assessmen s, in e en ions, and educa ional p ocesses ia mobile de ices [45-46], allowing lea ning o occu in a ious
loca ions, as well as h ough di e se ICT applica ions [47], which a e c ucial o educa ion. The applica ion o AI, STEM,
and obo ics [48-49] ad ances educa ional p ocesses, making hem mo e adap able, inno a i e, and e ec i e, while
gaming ans o ms educa ion in o a senso y- ich, engaging, and enjoyable expe ience. Addi ionally, he in eg a ion and
enhancemen o ICTs wi h me acogni ion, mind ulness, medi a ion, and emo ional in elligence de elopmen heo ies
and amewo ks [51-57] b ing cogni i e capabili ies in o he spo ligh o educa ional p ocesses and policies, he eby
u he imp o ing educa ional p ac ices and ou comes, pa icula ly in aining new en ep eneu s [58-64].
7. Conclusions
The case o Sicily highligh s he po en ial o gas onomic he i age as a key axis o cul u al managemen and sus ainable
ou ism de elopmen . Th ough ini ia i es such as he S ade del Vino e dei Sapo i di Sicilia, gas onomy is pa o a
wide ne wo k o hema ic cul u al i ine a ies, combining wine, ood and cul u al expe iences. These o ganized
i ine a ies, which a e o en enhanced by he use o al e na i e means o anspo such as ailways, ac as ools o
p omo ing local iden i y and as ehicles o he sus ainable managemen o he ou is load.
The case o And ea Camille i's li e a y and ele ision na a i e o Mon albano is illus a i e, whe e gas onomy goes
beyond i s unc ion as an e e yday p ac ice and akes on a symbolic dimension. The Sicilian oods desc ibed in he
au ho 's wo ks unc ion as cul u al ma ke s, b inging o he o e he his o ical in e ac ions, social changes and poli ical
con adic ions ha cha ac e ize Sicilian socie y. Gas onomy hus becomes a means o na a ing and in e p e ing he
cul u al iden i y o he place.
O e all, he Sicilian expe ience shows how he link be ween gas onomic adi ion and cul u al ou ism can con ibu e
o he c ea ion o sus ainable ou ism p oduc s, while s eng hening he local economy and cul u al cohesion. This case
