Howe e , only a small po ion o hese esou ces is u ilized in he pha maceu ical indus y. In he
con ex o global compe i ion and he g owing demand o he bal medicines, he de elopmen and
implemen a ion o inno a i e managemen in he p ocess o c ea ing new medicinal p oduc s based
on local plan s becomes a s a egic ask o s eng hening he na ional d ug policy.
Pu pose o he s udy: o de elop elemen s o inno a i e managemen o he e ec i e ma ke
en y o medicinal p oduc s c ea ed om medicinal plan s o Uzbekis an, aking in o accoun he
p io i ies o he na ional d ug policy and global pha maceu ical p ac ices.
Ma e ials and me hods: he s udy was based on he analysis o he pha maceu ical ma ke o
Uzbekis an, examina ion o he egula o y and legal amewo k o he egis a ion and
s anda diza ion o he bal medicines, as well as a compa a i e analysis o o eign expe ience (EU,
Sou h Ko ea, India). Me hods applied include SWOT analysis, ma ke ing esea ch, s a egic
planning, and a sys emic app oach o inno a i e managemen .
Resul s: he analysis e ealed ha he key ba ie s o widesp ead adop ion o he bal medicines
a e: insu icien s anda diza ion o aw ma e ials, limi ed p oduc ion capaci ies, and a weak sys em
o p oduc p omo ion in domes ic and o eign ma ke s. A he same ime, signi ican compe i i e
ad an ages we e iden i ied: accessible aw ma e ial base o medicinal plan s (echinacea, ya ow, S .
John’s wo , ho se ail, ansy, e c.), low p oduc ion cos s due o local manu ac u ing, as well as high
expo po en ial o Cen al Asian coun ies and he CIS. A model o inno a i e managemen s a egy
was de eloped, including he ollowing sequen ial s ages: s anda diza ion and ce i ica ion o aw
ma e ials, implemen a ion o mode n ex ac ion echnologies and quali y con ol, c ea ion o “Made
in Uzbekis an” he bal medicine b ands, applica ion o digi al ma ke ing, and es ablishmen o expo
channels.
Conclusions: he applica ion o inno a i e managemen in Uzbekis an’s pha maceu ical sec o
will make i possible o maximize he e icien use o he coun y’s ich na u al esou ces and p o ide
he popula ion wi h high-quali y and a o dable he bal medicines. The de eloped s a egy will
con ibu e o educing impo dependency, c ea ing compe i i e domes ic medicines, de eloping
expo po en ial, and s eng hening he p io i y a eas o he na ional d ug policy.
