Περίληψη
Εισαγωγή: Η διαβίωση με κολοστομία παρουσιάζει διάφορες προκλήσεις, επηρεάζοντας τόσο τη σωματική όσο
και την ψυχολογική ευεξία των ασθενών. Σκοπός της ανασκόπησης ήταν η επίδραση της εκπαίδευσης στην
ποιότητα ζωής των ατόμων με κολοστομία. Μεθοδολογία: Πραγματοποιήθηκε ανασκόπηση στις βάσεις
δεδομένων PubMed, Scopus, Google Schola , χρησιμοποιώντας ειδικές λέξεις-κλειδιά. Αποτελέσματα: Τα
ευρήματα έδειξαν ότι η εκπαίδευση βελτιώνει την ποιότητα ζωής των ασθενών με στομία. Οι εξατομικευμένες
εκπαιδευτικές παρεμβάσεις από εκπαιδευμένους επαγγελματίες υγείας ενδυναμώνουν τους ασθενείς, ενισχύουν
τις ικανότητές τους για αυτοφροντίδα και ανακουφίζουν το άγχος, προωθώντας τελικά την ανεξαρτησία και την
αισιοδοξία όσον αφορά στη διαχείριση της νόσου. Οι χώροι υγειονομικής περίθαλψης πρέπει παρέχουν
προτεραιότητα στην εφαρμογή εκπαιδευτικών προγραμμάτων για την ευημερία των ασθενών με στομία.
Συμπεράσματα: Η εκπαίδευση είναι απαραίτητη για τη βελτίωση της ποιότητας ζωής των ασθενών με
κολοστομία, παρέχοντας τη δυνατότητα να ζήσουν μια ανεξάρτητη ζωή παρά την κατάστασή τους. Η μελλοντική
έρευνα θα πρέπει να διερευνά καινοτόμες εκπαιδευτικές παρεμβάσεις για τη βελτίωση των αποτελεσμάτων και
της ικανοποίησης των ασθενών.

Quali y o li e (QoL) is limi ed in pa ien s a e s oma
su ge y.5–7 Pa ien s wi h ec al cance no ha ing a co-
los omy expe ience highe QoL le els compa ed wi h
hose who had.5 Di e ences in QoL be ween pa ien s
wi h and wi hou a colos omy may pe sis o mo e han
2 o 5 yea s.7
QoL is a mul idimensional and subjec i e concep
ha is di icul o be de ined and measu ed. In
heal hca e en i onmen s, he main eason o measu -
ing QoL is o p omo e pa ien -cen e ed ca e, which en-
su es he in eg a ion o hei p e e ences in disease
managemen and pa icipa ion in decision-making.
QoL measu emen p o ide a amewo k o clinical

Me hodology
A e iew was conduc ed, examining s udies ha we e
ca ied ou mainly in he las i e yea s, on a global
scale, ega ding he issue unde s udy. The e iew was
ca ied ou in he da abases PubMed, Scopus, Google
Schola , using speci ic keywo ds: Colos omy, pa ien
educa ion, quali y o li e, sel -ca e, psychological adap-
a ion.
Resul s
Li ing wi h a s oma is se iously a ec ing pa ien s’ QoL
which is a ibu ed o a ie y o ac o s such as dia -
hea, odo o leakages om he speci ic a ea. Mean-
while, s oma esul s in body image changes, social e-
s ic ions while is igge ing physical and emo ional
bu den.12,13
Fo example, a s udy conduc ed by Zewude e al.,13
in E hiopia among 39 males (60.9%) and 25 emales
(39.1%) wi h mean age 49.3 ±17.5 showed ha mo e
han 50% epo ed eelings o dep ession ollowing
s oma su ge y. App oxima ely, 70% o pa ien s had ad-
jus ed hei die a y s yle due o s oma and only 34%
esumed sexual ac i i y. Fac o s such as ype o
os omy ( empo a y/pe manen ), adjus men in die a y
s yle due o s oma, dep ession, change in die o no
passing gas in public, and change in clo hing s yle had
signi ican e ec s on o e all QoL and i s subscales.
Indeed, pa ien s wi h s oma expe ience physical im-
pai men , de anged body unc ion and emo ional
auma, which u he minimize hei abili y o sel ca e
and limi hei social o sexual li e.14 All he a o emen-
ioned pa ame e s educe QoL di ec ly o indi ec ly and
place educa ion in he o e on o clinical p ac ice.
In Taiwan, he s udy conduc ed by Ko e al.,15
showed ha mul imedia pa ien educa ion deli e ed ia

In China, he s udy by Ran e al.,18 indica ed low QoL
