Resea ch Objec i e: To s udy he mo phological (ex e nal) s uc u e o he T ipolium plan

species-le el iden i ica ion based on mo phological da a, and o collec p elimina y in o ma ion o
u u e pha maceu ical and bo anical esea ch.
Me hods and App oaches: Fo he s udy, samples o he T ipolium plan g owing wild in
Uzbekis an we e collec ed om hei na u al habi a s du ing di e en phenological s ages ( lowe ing
and ui ing). The collec ed ma e ial was p elimina ily desc ibed in he ield, and he main ecological
condi ions we e eco ded. Mo phological analysis was ca ied ou in he labo a o y: he ex e nal
s uc u e, dimensions, colo , and shape o ege a i e (s em, lea es, lowe s) and gene a i e ( lowe s,
ui s) o gans we e s udied o ganolep ically and wi h magni ying lenses. Mode n lo is ic manuals
and axonomic keys we e used o de e mine diagnos ic ea u es, and he ob ained da a we e compa ed
acco ding o mo phological desc ip ion c i e ia.
Resul s: Mo phological s uc u e o he T ipolium plan :
Flowe s – a composi e capi ulum, wi h wo ypes o lo e s in one head: ma ginal lo e s –
ligula e, usually iole , bluish, o whi e in colo ; cen al lo e s – ubula , usually yellow and bisexual.
Co olla – ubula and ligula e in shape. Ligula e co olla – elonga ed o one side. Tubula co olla – 5-
oo hed, ubula . S amens – 5, used in o a ube, wi h an he s opening upwa ds. Pis il – single,
consis ing o 2 s yles, o a y unilocula , in e io ; s yle slende , bi id. F ui ype – d y ui wi h pappus
hai s.
Lea es – a anged al e na ely on he s em. Pe iole sho o almos absen , some imes sessile.
Lea blade gene ally sp eading, oblong-o al o lanceola e, some imes obo a e. B oade a he base
o he s em, becoming na owe owa ds he apex. Ma gin usually en i e, wi hou ee h. Su ace
smoo h, shiny, leshy, succulen , indica ing adap a ion o saline soils. Colo g een o g ay-g een,
some imes sligh ly bluish.
S em – e ec , he baceous. B anching: much b anched in he uppe pa , less so in he lowe pa .
Thickness: gene ally hin, some imes sligh ly hickened. Su ace co e ing: g een, succulen and
smoo h, occasionally sligh ly idged o inely pubescen . In e nal s uc u e: epide mis single-laye ed,
ou e su ace co e ed wi h a hick cu icle. Co ex composed o pa enchyma cells, wi h mechanical
issue (scle enchyma) in some a eas. Vascula issue a anged in a ing, wi h xylem and phloem
clea ly isible. Cen al pa (pi h) ends wi h a ca i y (pi h ca i y), composed o pa enchymal cells.
Conclusions: The T ipolium plan g owing wild in Uzbekis an has been ound o be well
adap ed o na u al condi ions, wi h he abili y o g ow e en in saline soils. The lowe s o he
