Ne wo king and collabo a ion acili a e he e ec i e exchange o knowledge and bes p ac ices. Since
i s e y incep ion, BBioNe s has acknowledged hem as i al condui s o add essing he speci ic needs
o a me s and o es e s in he p omo ion and up ake o Bio-Based Technologies (BBTs).
As pa o i s o e all me hodology, BBioNe s has applied a wo-le el mul i-ac o app oach o espond
o he Eu opean a me s’ & o es e s’ needs. I p oceeded wi h ini ially es ablishing 6 egional Fo es
and Ag icul u e Ne wo ks (FANs), one in each o he conso ium coun ies (ea ly 2024), o encou age
coope a ion among p ima y p oduce s, indus y, policy make s and esea che s. The aim has always
been o enable an exchange o ideas and expe iences on he mos u gen needs and eme ging
oppo uni ies o p ima y p oduce s wi h espec o he deploymen o BBTs in hei day- o-day
ope a ions, encompassing hei cos /e ec i eness dimension o each egion.
The ole o he FANs ex ends beyond hei na ional bo de s, hough. To achie e hei in ended
objec i e o be e eaching, cap u ing and ans e ing knowledge om OGs and in oducing
addi ional BBTs, he FANs ha e been in i ed o wo k oge he a a double c oss- egional le el:
• as ‘Eu opean T ansna ional Regions’ (ETRs), based on he app oach en isioned by he p ojec
(Figu e 1), and
• he Eu opean le el.

ela ed hu dles and solu ions, and p opose app oaches o os e OG c ea ion.
These c oss- egional sub-ne wo ks play a c ucial ole in b idging he gap be ween policy
implemen a ion and on- he-g ound eali ies. By mee ing a egula in e als, hey enhance hei
collec i e capaci y o de elop a ge ed solu ions ha suppo ag icul u al p oduc i i y, sus ainabili y,
and esilience. Thei s uc u ed in e ac ions os e a dynamic lea ning en i onmen ha enables hem
o e ine hei me hodologies and adap o eme ging challenges. Such exchanges ensu e ha p ima y
p oduce s bene i om he mos e ec i e s a egies ailo ed o hei unique ci cums ances.

achie ed in he knowledge collec ion and high-le el s udy o egional dynamics ca ied ou by he
conso ium. The objec i e was o make his plan as e ec i e as possible, accoun ing o he e olu ion
o he p ojec , and he needs and challenges iden i ied by one o i s main s akeholde s, i.e. p ima y
p oduce s. Iden i ying he o e all objec i es o he Task was he nex s ep owa ds ha di ec ion:

By connec ing a me s, esea che s, policymake s, and s akeholde s, Soil-X-
Change (BBioNe s’ sis e p ojec – unded unde he same opic) aims o
enhance Ag icul u al Knowledge and Inno a ion Sys ems, p omo ing sus ainabili y, sma ag icul u e,
and clima e-neu ali y. I ocuses on ha monising and dissemina ing esea ch and p ac ical solu ions

Change emphasises co-design and co-c ea ion, de eloping use - iendly ools like a da a dashboa d
and adap a ion guide o empowe a me s wi h ac ionable knowledge. The ini ia i e seeks o os e

AQUAGRI-KNOW enhances on- a m wa e managemen by building on EIP-
