Аннотация. В статье исследуются фразеологические системы английского и
узбекского языков, их семантическое устройство и типологические различия.
Фразеология, включающая идиомы, пословицы и устойчивые выражения,
отражает мировоззрение, культурные ценности и творческое мышление народа.
Сравнительный анализ показывает как общие закономерности, так и
национально-культурную специфику. Установлено, что в обоих языках идиомы
в основном метафоричны и зависят от контекста, однако различаются по
образности, символике и прагматической функции. Исследование подчеркивает
значимость фразеологии не только в теоретическом языкознании, но и в
переводоведении, межкультурной коммуникации и методике преподавания
иностранных языков.

es ablished by Vinog ado (1977), who ca ego ized wo d combina ions in o ee
combina ions, ph aseological uni s, and idioms. Building upon his, Kunin (1996) and
Cowie (1998) ad anced English ph aseological s udies by examining idioms in e ms
o hei seman ic anspa ency — dis inguishing be ween anspa en , semi-
anspa en , and opaque o ms. Wi hin Uzbek linguis ics, he wo ks o G‘ulomo
(1990) and Mad ahimo (2002) played a signi ican ole in iden i ying he olklo ic
o igins and educa ional alue o ph aseological exp essions, highligh ing hei deep-
oo ed connec ion o na ional cul u e and wo ld iew. Simila ly, Moon (1998)
emphasized ha English idioms unc ion as cul u al codes, con eying me apho ic
pa e ns ha a y om one language o ano he . Compa a i e in es iga ions (Kunin,
1996; Moon, 1998) ha e e ealed ha while igu a i e language demons a es
