phy oho mones such as indole ace ic acid (IAA) and cy okinins, imp o e nu ien
up ake, and p o ec plan s om pa hogens h ough he p oduc ion o an imic obial
compounds. These p ope ies make hem aluable as bio e ilize s and biocon ol
agen s, o e ing an en i onmen ally iendly al e na i e o syn he ic e ilize s and
pes icides. In he A al Sea basin, whe e soil salini y and deg ada ion pose se ious
ag icul u al challenges, endophy ic ungi ep esen a p omising ecological solu ion.

Endophy ic Fungi and Soil Ecosys em Func ioning. Endophy ic ungi
play a cen al ole in nu ien cycling and o ganic ma e decomposi ion. They
p oduce ex acellula enzymes such as cellulase, lipase, p o ease, and pec inase,
which help b eak down plan esidues and e u n essen ial nu ien s o he soil. By
accele a ing o ganic ma e u no e , hese ungi con ibu e o soil e ili y,
s uc u e, and s abili y, which a e i al o long- e m ecosys em unc ioning and
eco e y o deg aded lands.
