ABSTRACT: This s udy examined he ela ionship among ask p io i iza ion, mul i asking, wo k schedule ime managemen
echnique and job e iciency o Business Educa ion lec u e s in in Del a S a e. Six esea ch and hypo heses guided he s udy. The
popula ion o he s udy consis ed o 144 Business Educa ion lec u e s in e ia y ins i u ions in Del a S a e. A sample o 110 lec u e s
was used o he s udy. The sampling echnique employed in he s udy was he con enience o acciden al sampling echnique which
is a non-p obabili y sampling echnique. The ins umen used o his s udy was a ques ionnai e i led “Time Managemen
Techniques by Te ia y Ins i u ion Lec u e s o Job E iciency Ques ionnai e (TMTTILJEQ)”. C onbach’s alpha was u ilized in
ob aining he eliabili y o he ins umen which yielded a eliabili y coe icien o 0.788, 0.867, 0.745, and 0.747, espec i ely o
he di e en scales. The Pea son P oduc Momen Co ela ion Coe icien and Coe icien o De e mina ion was used in answe ing
he esea ch ques ions while ANOVA associa ed wi h linea eg ession was used in es ing he s a ed hypo heses a an alpha le el o
0.05. Based on he analysis, i was e ealed ha : he e was signi ican ela ionship be ween ask p io i iza ion echniques,
mul i asking echnique, wo k schedule echnique, and he job e iciency o business educa ion lec u e s in e ia y ins i u ions in
Del a S a e. I was concluded ha ask p io i iza ion echniques, mul i asking echnique, wo k schedule echnique ime managemen
echniques we e posi i e p edic o s o job e iciency. The s udy ecommends ha he e should be ime managemen wo kshops o
lec u e s on he di e en ime managemen echniques.

keeping an eye on punc uali y, assu ing p oc as ina ion con ol, and p o iding ime ools and skills (Oko o, P. E. 2018). Indi idual
and o ganiza ional pe o mance can be enhanced h ough he use o p ope wo k schedules, s a educa ion, and e ec i e
communica ion.

ha include goal-se ing, p io i iza ion, and s ess managemen , among o he hings (Fa hi & Mou ad, 2020). The e a e a numbe

inish asks o mee deadlines. Goal planning is a well-known ime managemen echnique ha en ails es ablishing speci ic a ge s
and decomposing hem in o manageable chunks. Acco ding o Locke and La ham (2022), goal-se ing enhances mo i a ion and ask
pe o mance. People can e icien ly p io i ize hei ac i i ies and manage hei ime by es ablishing clea , quan i iable, ealis ic,
pe inen , and ime-bound goals. Ano he c ucial ime managemen echnique ha enables people o concen a e on and comple e
high-p io i y p ojec s on ime is ask p io i izing. A s a egy called ime blocking, some imes e e ed o as scheduling, is se ing
aside pa icula ime in e als o a ious asks. People can imp o e hei p oduc i i y and p ese e a wo kli e balance by
de eloping a egula ou ine. Acco ding o Pešić & Pešić (2019), ime blocking helps people se aside speci ic ime o pe sonal
pu sui s and g ea ly enhances ime managemen abili ies.

swi ched on and o like a machine, o s o ed like aw ma e ials. The mos aluable esou ce in an o ganiza ion is ime, which we

E iciency is a complex idea ha includes he deg ee o which p ede ined goals can be achie ed (P adhan &
Jena, 2020) as well as he esul s o employee ac ions depending on hei knowledge and abili ies (Dahkoul, 2018). E iciency is
de ined as "some hing ha is done o he p oduc s o se ices p oduced o p o ided by a pe son o g oup o people" by Rashed and
Ahmad (2020). Howe e , i only co e s he ac ions o an employee and excludes he ou comes o hose ac ions.
Acco ding o Sendawula e al. (2018), employee e iciency is he esul o an indi idual's wo k accomplishmen ollowing
he necessa y e o on he job, which is linked o ob aining a meaning ul employmen , an engaged p o ile, and sympa he ic
cowo ke s o bosses. Fu he mo e, acco ding o Sendawela e al. (2018), employee e iciency is he capaci y o a wo ke o

Concep o Time Managemen Technique
Acco ding o Oko o P. E. (2018a), ime is he amoun o ime—seconds, minu es, hou s, o pe iods— ha is an icipa ed o
be needed o inish a speci ic wo k in any o ganiza ion. I is equi ed o employees o make he bes use o hei ime in o de o
p e en was e. We call his ime managemen . Though many au ho s ha e ci ed and suppo ed he idea ha ime managemen is
he p ocess o iden i ying needs, se ing goals o mee hose needs, p io i izing, and o ganizing he asks necessa y o accomplish
hose goals, he e is cu en ly no de ini i e and accu a e de ini ion o he e m (Lakein, 2023).

Mul i asking is he simul aneous execu ion o quick swi ching o wo o mo e asks, usually wi h he goal o inc easing
e iciency and p oduc i i y (Onuo ah, 2020). This concep is highly eng ained in ou mode n wo k cul u e, since many indi iduals
a e equi ed o manage se e al du ies and deadlines a he same ime. The e m "mul i asking" e e s o an indi idual's abili y o
wo k on wo o mo e in o ma ion-p ocessing asks simul aneously o concu en ly (Reka , 2021). As a esul , he indi idual can
execu e a ious hings ha all need cogni i e, such as eading email o con e sing online while a ending a mee ing o wo king wi h
a g oup. The unde lying need o mul i asking a wo k is ha he indi idual mus manage mul iple sub asks simul aneously o a
limi ed amoun o ime.
Many esea che s ha e no ed ha mul i asking may no be as success ul as ime managemen , as gene ally belie ed. One

Kandie and Chepkilo (2022) desc ibe a wo k schedule as he ime when an employee is expec ed o be p esen and wo king.
In many ci cums ances, he employe will es ablish he numbe o days and hou s wo ked. An employee's wo k schedule con ains
he imes and days ha hey a e expec ed o be on he job.
Acco ding o Kandie and Chepkilo (2022), when an employe hi es o ill a acancy, he o ganiza ion de e mines he
employmen wo k schedule. Many employe s se a schedule o hei pe sonnel. The ime able can be c ea ed wi h ixed hou s, so
he employee knows exac ly when hey will be wo king each week. O he o ganisa ions may ha e a mo e lexible scheduling
app oach. Employe s use his o p o ide employees he lexibili y o change hei a i al and lea e imes, as well as choosing hei
wo k days. The scheduling p ocess can be done he old ashioned way, wi h a co po a ion manually de e mining he wo k plan o
i s pe sonnel on pape o ia a compu e sp eadshee o calenda .

o ganiza ions. A wo k schedule is he numbe o hou s pe day and days pe week ha an employee is equi ed o wo k (Kandie &
Chepkilo , 2022). Nyamka and Ndang (2021) e ealed in hei s udy ha wo k schedule had a posi i e in luence on employee
pe o mance. Kandie and Chepkilo (2022) examining he e ec o wo k scheduling on employee e iciency con i med a s ong
s a is ically signi ican posi i e ela ionship be ween wo k scheduling and employee pe o mance in selec ed p i a e hospi als in
Uasin-Gishu Coun y, Kenya. This means ha scheduling o asks helps in he p ope managemen o ime necessa y o conduc ing
o asks signi ican ly in luence employees’ pe o mance.
6. THEORETICAL FRAMEWORK: The Pickle Ja Theo y
This s udy's heo e ical amewo k is based on Je emy W igh 's (2002) Pickle Ja Theo y, which Gunawan (2024) has
emb aced. This heo y p oposes a way o p io i izing asks by compa ing ime managemen o a con aine ull o di e se i ems:
s ones ep esen key cho es, g a el ep esen impo an bu delegable asks, and sand ep esen s less c i ical ac i i ies. By
p io i izing well, one can handle he mos impo an asks i s , po en ially inc easing p oduc i i y. Acco ding o Gunawan (2024),
his me hod helps a oid he dange s o mul i asking, which can cause eelings o o e whelm and dec eased e ec i eness. E ec i e
ime managemen maximizes ene gy and ocus. The Pickle Ja Theo y enables people o e alua e he ele ance and u gency o
ac i i ies based on cha ac e is ics such as du a ion and impac , which helps hem balance mul iple du ies wi hin a limi ed ime ame
(Idowu & Bami e, 2022).
7. METHODOLOGY
The s udy used a co ela ional su ey esea ch app oach. In his ype o s udy, he esea che mus p esen ques ionnai es
o ob ain esponden s' opinions, a i udes, o imp essions. The su ey included 144 Business Educa ion lec u e s om Del a S a e's
e ia y schools. The s udy used he pu posi e sampling me hod, which employs he acciden al o con enience sampling s a egy.
The esea che used esponden s who we e ei he a ailable o willing o engage in he su ey. Based on his, a sample o 110
lec u e s was selec ed. The s udy employed a closed-ended ques ionnai e wi h 60 i ems a anged on a ou -poin scale.

C onbach’s alpha was u ilized in ob aining he eliabili y o he ins umen which yielded a eliabili y coe icien o 0.788, 0.867,
0.745, and 0.747, espec i ely o he di e en scales. These esul s showed a high le el o eliabili y, demons a ing app op ia eness,
making he ins umen sui able o he s udy. The Pea son P oduc Momen Co ela ion Coe icien and Coe icien o De e mina ion
was used in answe ing he esea ch ques ions while ANOVA associa ed wi h linea eg ession was used in es ing he s a ed
hypo heses a an alpha le el o 0.05 signi icance.
8. DATA ANALYSIS RESEARCH QUESTION ONE

In Table 1, he analysis shows a Pea son- alue o 0.659 indica ing ha he e is high posi i e ela ionship
be ween ask p io i iza ion echnique and he job e iciency o business educa ion lec u e s in e ia y ins i u ions in Del a S a e. The
2 alue o 0.434 is he coe icien o de e mina ion and his implies ha he amoun o con ibu ion o ask p io i iza ion echnique
o job e iciency is 43.4%.

Table 2 shows a Pea son- alue o 0.559 which indica es a mode a e posi i e ela ionship be ween mul i asking echnique
and he job e iciency o business educa ion lec u e s in e ia y ins i u ions in Del a S a e. The 2 alue o 0.312 indica es he
coe icien o de e mina ion and he amoun o con ibu ion o mul i asking echnique o job e iciency which is 31.2%.

Table 3 shows a Pea son- alue o 0.525 which indica es a mode a e posi i e ela ionship be ween wo k schedule echnique
and he job e iciency o business educa ion lec u e s in e ia y ins i u ions in Del a S a e. The 2 alue o 0.273 is he coe icien o
de e mina ion, hence, he amoun o con ibu ion o wo k schedule echnique o job e iciency is 27.3%.

10. DISCUSSION OF FINDINGS
The analysis in Table 1 which answe ed he second esea ch ques ion e ealed ha exis ence o a s ong posi i e

Del a S a e. This analysis indica es ha he change in job e iciency among Business Educa ion lec u e s in Del a S a e Highe
Ins i u ions was a ibu ed o ask p io i iza ion. Fu he es ing o hypo hesis, as shown in Table 4 e ealed ha he e was
ela ionship be ween ask p io i iza ion echnique and he job e iciency o business educa ion lec u e s in e ia y ins i u ions in
Del a S a e. Hence, ask p io i iza ion echnique was good a p edic ing he job e iciency o business educa ion lec u e s. This
