By he use o a ious op ical hand-held 3D scanne s, as well as magne ic esonance imaging (MRI), subjec ’s
head, o so and ou e ea geome ies wi h he ea canals and he ea d ums we e de e mined.
The acquisi ion o indi idual geome ies is desc ibed in [1]. The e he assessmen o he subjec s, scanning o
head, o so and ou e ea geome ies, he imaging o he medial pa o he ea canal and he assembling o he
geome y is explained in de ail.
The in e au al cen e o each geome y was placed app oxima ely a he coo dina e o igin using he le and
igh agus and he ip o he nose. The geome ies we e unca ed 0.5 m below he xy-plane.
The inal e-meshing was done in COMSOL 5.6. wi h pa ame e s ha can be seen in Table 2.
