opaque so di ec obse a ions canno be made, and he g anula ion p ocess is on he o de seconds which equi es
ul a as da a acquisi ion. The synch o on-based dynamic mic o omog aphy (µCT) echnique can p o ide non-
des uc i e and sub-second da a acquisi ion. This echnique was used o in es iga e we g anula ion and e ealed
new insigh s by analyzing he e ol ing mic os uc u es.
Lac ose monohyd a e (LMH) was used as a ep esen a i e pha maceu ical powde . D y powde s we e loaded in o a

disc epancy could be because 20 sec o scanning did no ully cap u e he e ol ing po es un il he end. One way o
ex ending he scanning ime would be o use a smalle ield-o - iew (FOV). Since he da a size o each image can be
calcula ed om he FOV, i limi s he o al numbe o images ha can be sa ed in one scan which in u n, limi s he
o al scan ime. Success ul dynamic CT scans equi e ca e ul conside a ion o how imaging pa ame e s i.e., FOV,

Dynamic-µCT is a powe ul echnique o in es iga ing changing mic os uc u es and he success in in es iga ing a
single ma e ial can lead owa ds mo e complex pha maceu ical o mula ions. By conside ing all pa ame e s,
expe imen al and imaging, obus dynamic-µCT p ocedu es can be designed o mo e complex we g anula ion
s udies. The demons a ions o his s udy we e o we g anula ion, bu he app oach can also be used in simila ly as
occu ing phenomenon in chemical enginee ing esea ch. Recen li e a u e has shown en husiasm in s udying he
dynamics o colloidal sys ems, deg ading ma e ial, and ood sciences.
