This s udy examined how a isan en e p ises in he Da ao Region na iga e he balance be ween inno a ion and cul u al
p ese a ion amid inc easing p essu es om globaliza ion, shi ing consume p e e ences, and compe i ion om mass-p oduced
goods. Guided by cul u al sus ainabili y heo y and he esou ce-based iew, he s udy employed a mul iple-case quali a i e design
in ol ing i e en e p ises engaged in wea ing, u ni u e making, woodca ing, baske y, and po e y. Da a we e ga he ed h ough
in-dep h in e iews, ield obse a ions, and documen e iews, and we e analyzed using hema ic analysis and c oss-case
compa ison. Findings demons a ed ha a isans engage in selec i e inno a ion, in eg a ing mode n design elemen s, eco iendly
ma e ials, and upda ed p oduc ion ools while e aining adi ional mo i s, symbolic pa e ns, and in e gene a ional knowledge.
Family labo , communi y alida ion, and spi i uali y eme ged as cen al esou ces ha ein o ced cul u al con inui y and
s eng hened business esilience. Despi e economic cons ain s such as luc ua ing demand, limi ed ins i u ional suppo , and

Me hod and Ma e ials
This quali a i e esea ch employed a mul iple-case s udy design o
explo e how i e a isan en e p ises in he Da ao Region balance
inno a ion wi h cul u al p ese a ion. The cases included wea ing,
u ni u e making, wood ca ing, handwo en baske y, and po e y.
Pa icipan s we e selec ed h ough pu posi e sampling based on
hei ecognized engagemen in adi ional c a and hei
ope a ional p esence in he local c ea i e economy.
Da a we e collec ed h ough indep h in e iews, ield obse a ions,
and documen e iews. Thema ic analysis and c oss-case
compa ison we e used o d aw pa e ns ac oss cases. T iangula ion
o da a sou ces and membe checking es ablished c edibili y and
us wo hiness. This app oach enabled a deepe unde s anding o
a isans‘ p ac ices, challenges, and s a egies wi hin hei cul u al
and economic con ex s.
Resul s/Findings
The indings e eal ha a isans employ a ange o s a egies o
balance cul u al iden i y and inno a ion. Fi s , design adap a ion
eme ged as a majo p ac ice, whe e a isans in eg a e mode n s yles
while e aining adi ional mo i s, echniques, and symbolic
pa e ns. This selec i e inno a ion allows hem o mee ma ke
demands wi hou comp omising au hen ici y.

amily labo , in e gene a ional knowledge, and accumula ed skills
as key in angible esou ces ha s eng hened cul u al con inui y. A
he same ime, hey g adually adop ed new ools, eco- iendly

and ma ke isibili y.
