The mic os uc u al e alua ion o duplex s ainless s eels plays a c ucial ole in
de e mining hei s eng h, oughness, and co osion esis ance. Con en ional
manual measu emen o g ain size, e i e–aus eni e phase balance, and hea -
a ec ed zone (HAZ) wid h is labo -in ensi e and s ongly dependen on ope a o
pe cep ion, which o en leads o inconsis ency in esul s. In his wo k, an
au oma ed compu e ‐ ision‐based me hodology is p oposed o as and
ep oducible quan i a i e me allog aphic analysis using he OpenCV lib a y.
The de eloped wo k low includes image no maliza ion, g ayscale con e sion,
his og am equaliza ion, adap i e h esholding, and mo phological e inemen o
isola e e i e and aus eni e egions. G ain bounda y ex ac ion is pe o med using
Sobel and Canny ope a o s, ollowed by wa e shed segmen a ion o accu a ely
sepa a e adjacen g ains. Pixel measu emen s a e calib a ed o mic ome e s based
on he scale ba p esen in he mic oscopic images, enabling p ecise dimensional
quan i ica ion.
The algo i hm was es ed on e ched duplex s eel mic og aphs acqui ed unde
op ical mic oscopy. The au oma ed esul s show less han 5% de ia ion om
