knowledge economy include educa ion, inno a ion, in o ma ion echnology, and
ins i u ional amewo ks ha p omo e lea ning and c ea i i y (OECD, 2023). Unlike
adi ional indus ial economies ha depend on angible esou ces, knowledge economies
ely on in ellec ual capi al and human ingenui y.
Nige ia’s Na ional Digi al Economy Policy and S a egy (NDEPS, 2020–2030)
acknowledges his d i and iden i ies knowledge as he co ne s one o na ional
de elopmen (NITDA, 2023). In op eneu ship hus unc ions as bo h a p oduc and enable
o he knowledge economy- ans o ming how indi iduals c ea e alue and how socie ies

knowledge-based inno a ion and economic inclusion in Nige ia.

De elopmen Agency (NITDA) and he Fede al Minis y o Communica ions, Inno a ion
and Digi al Economy ha e played pi o al oles in his landma k ans o ma ion. The
Na ional Digi al Economy Policy and S a egy (NDEPS 2020–2030) speci ically iden i ies
digi al inno a ion and en ep eneu ship majo hallma ks o achie ing inclusi e g ow h
(NITDA, 2023).

In essence, Nige ia’s digi al landscape is bo h ipe wi h po en ial and iddled wi h

knowledge base.

Nige ia’s hea y eliance on oil e enues has exposed he economy o luc ua ions in global
