Day o he E adica ion o Po e y, i s commemo a ed in Pa is in 1987 and o mally
designa ed by he Uni ed Na ions. This day is dedica ed o enewing he commi men o
uni e sal human de elopmen , enabling all indi iduals o achie e hei highes po en ial,
and e lec ing on how po e y hinde s his p og ess. The u gency o add essing po e y
has inc eased a e he COVID-19 pandemic, which exace ba ed exis ing issues and
highligh ed he c i ical need o e ec i e po e y e adica ion s a egies. The s udies
included in his Resea ch Topic aim o expand knowledge abou po e y, i s causes,
consequences, and connec ions o c ises, inequali y, and ai ness, and o assess policy
measu es o po e y educ ion. The included con ibu ions use a ious heo e ical,
empi ical, quan i a i e, and quali a i e app oaches o d i e sociological and policy- ela ed
discussions and ini ia i es, p omo ing ai and inclusi e socie ies.
The p esen ed Resea ch Topic includes se en a icles w i en by 29 au ho s om he

Two s udies ocused on he use o e-comme ce pla o ms

consump ion-based po e y educ ion in China. The au ho s

bu i s sus ainabili y is challenged by low consume pa icipa ion
and eliance on go e nmen p ocu emen . T us is a signi ican
ac o a ec ing consume s’ willingness o buy “po e y-alle ia ion
ag icul u al p oduc s,” p ima ily due o pas ad e se e en s
ha ha e damaged us , such as slow sales. The s udy ound
ha enhancing us h ough, among o he s, use eedback
mechanisms, pla o m supe ision, p oduc aceabili y, and
ce i ica ion mechanisms can inc ease consume s’ pu chase
in en ions and p omo e sus ainable u al de elopmen . Wu e al.

Medical Scheme (NRCMS) on he heal h s a us o he ela i ely
poo popula ion in u al China, using da a om he China
Family Panel S udies. Employing p opensi y sco e ma ching
me hods, he analysis ound ha pa icipa ion in he NRCMS
signi ican ly imp o ed he heal h s a us o low-income indi iduals.

expendi u es. Using a di e en pe spec i e, Wang e al. ocused
on disabili y as a signi ican con ibu o o global po e y. The
au ho s s udied how China’s wel a e e o ms and employmen
in e en ions ha e been implemen ed o add ess his issue. By
employing he Alki e-Fos e me hod, he esea che s measu ed
mul idimensional po e y among subjec s wi h disabili ies aged
16–59 in China, inding ha a high pe cen age we e dep i ed
in a leas one dimension, pa icula ly educa ion and social
pa icipa ion. Employmen se ices we e shown o signi ican ly
educe mul idimensional po e y ac oss a ious ields, p o iding
c ucial e idence o in o m public policies aimed a e adica ing
po e y among people wi h disabili ies.
Theme IV: po e y and he income ax
sys em
The inal sec ion includes a s udy by Jasso ha a gued ha
he linea income ax sys em, which aligns wi h p inciples o ax
equi y by inc easing pos - ax income, he amoun o ax, and
he a e o ax as p e- ax income inc eases, is an e ec i e ool
o po e y educ ion. The s udy highligh ed a po en ial issue
whe e policies ha help he poo es may ha m he middle class,
hus weakening his c ucial segmen o socie y. Mo eo e , he
a icle con as ed di e en income dis ibu ions and demons a ed
how o main ain ax ai ness, e en wi h addi ional esou ce
injec ions, and how o es ima e ai pa ame e s o he linea
income sys em.
Conclusion
The esul s p esen ed in he a icles in his Resea ch Topic allow
