unlikely o be expe ienced again. Some pessimis s indeed a e p epa ed

Thi dly, since he popula ion o he majo ad anced cuun ies en e ed

s abili y in peace- ime, and changing socie y's iews o no mali y is a
slow p ocess, one should expec people o go on o a long ime a e
in la ion has once go unde way, making hei decisions on he assump-
ion o con inuing in la ion e en hough hey pe sonally a e su e ing
om de la ion (speci ically, unemploymen ). A e all, i ook nea ly
