Maye 's essay on "The S uc u e o Mone a ism""* is a long exe cise
on he na u e and in e - ela ionships o wel e p oposi ions which he

This implies ha (1) he economic e ec s o a change in he money
s ock a e la gely independen o he me hods by which he posi i e o
nega i e inc emen is injec ed in o o wi hd awn om he economy,
and ha (2) iscal policy measu es ha e negligible e ec s on he econo-
my apa om hei mone a y consequences.
