An aprroximation to the features of smart home prediction algorithms

Abstract

This paper reviews the goals of the Domoweb pro­ject and the solutions adopted to achieve them. As a result we enjoy a great support to develop smart home techniques and solutions. As a consequence of the acquired experiences a Smart home model is proposed as a division of four main categories. In relation with the smart home model, we show the essential features a smart environment prediction algorithm should satisfy and a procedure to select relevan! information based in a window of state from the model to achieve artificial intelligence based solutions. Finally we propose a technique of situation recognition in a smart home environment.

Nowadays Domoweb con o m a g ea pla o m whe e e

can deploy, de elop and es sma home ela ed solu ions,
due o he componen! based model, and he se ice o ien ed
a chi ec u e ha Domoweb and OSGi suppo s.
This a icle ocuses on modeling sma homes and he
ea u es he p edic ion algo i hms should implemen . A

p oposed in sec ion 3.

2 Domoweb
The main goal o he Domoweb p ojec was o design and
de elop a sma home sys em con olled ía web and open
sou ce based. This objec i e means ha he home sys em
mus be able o manage ypical sma home elemen s like
ala ms, com o con ol, use s and o he sys em by means o
necessa y senso s and appliances.
One o he ea u es o he sys em is i s capaci y o being
managed h ough adap able in e aces so use s can con ol
he sma home om a huge a ie y o de ices. This con ol
usually in ol es in e ac ions wi h di e en echnologies like
Blue oo h, USB, o XIO so a special e o was necessa y o
communica e homogeneously wi h di e en echnologies.
Nex we discuss di e en design and implemen a ion deci
sions.
2.1 OSGi Se ice Pla o m implemen a ion
Domoweb is based on open sou ce implemen a ions so we
decided o use any o he a ailable implemen a ions. In pa 
icula we used wo e e ence implemen a ions: OSCAR1
(cu en ly known as Apache-Felix) and Knop le ish2. Bo h
pla o ms a e componen! and se ices o ien ed and show a
GUI whe e de elope s can deploy and manage componen s
in an independen way.
