The structure of a mediterranean lizard community⁽¹⁾

Abstract

Se ha estudiado la estructura de una comunidad de lagartos mediterráneos localizada en una zona de Sierra Morena, al Suroeste de España. Esta comunidad está compuesta por ocho especies de lagartos, incluyendo tres pares de especies del mismo género. EI nicho espacial parece ser el mayor parámetro en la segregación del nicho, mientras que el nicho trófico y el nicho temporal actúan de forma accesoria. Así, una de las especies muestra especificidad de hábitat, mientras que el resto muestra preferencia de sustrato. Cuando dos especies viven en un mismo sustrato, el alimento las segrega en uno de los casos encontrados. En el otro, es el tiempo el que actúa. Las comunidades mediterráneas de lagartos parecen presentar una gran semejancia, tanto en número de especies como en la forma de explotación de recursos. Finalmente, se hacen algunas comparaciones entre comunidades mediterráneas y del desierto.
