Editorial  Conservar Património 28 (2018) 9-10 | https://doi.org/10.14568/cp28fm2 | ISSN 2182-9942 ARP - Associação Profissional de Conservadores-Restauradores de Portugal http://revista.arp.org.pt As announced in the cover, issue 28 of Conservar Património is a thematic number dedicated to the publishing of texts resulting from communications presented at the CREPAT 2017 – Congresso da Reabilitação do Património [Congress of Heritage Rehabilitation], organized by the University of Aveiro, which took place in June 29-30 2017. The published contributions result from an initial selection by the respective Executive Committee, followed by the review procedures usually carried out by the journal, which complemented the reviews made by the Scientific Committee of the Congress. This thematic number, originating from a scientific event, is already part of a tradition that goes back to no. 7, in 2008, when the journal was still published solely on paper. Similarly to what has happened in many journals of major international publishers, this model is expected to gain greater importance in the coming times, with currently previewed issues devoted to the First National Seminar on the Conservation of Scientific Collections, which will be held in June at the National Museum of Natural History and Science in Lisbon; and to the II Colloquium “Investigations in Conservation of Heritage”, which will take place in September at the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon. In addition, yet another thematic number, for which the manuscript submission period is presently under way, is being prepared in partnership with the Textiles, Trade & Taste group of the New University of Lisbon and the Conservation and Restoration group of the University of Amsterdam. O número 28 da revista Conservar Património, tal como anunciado na capa, é um número temático dedicado à publicação de textos que resultaram de comunicações apresentadas ao CREPAT 2017 – Congresso da Reabilitação do Património, organizado pela Universidade de Aveiro, que decorreu entre 29 e 30 de Junho de 2017. O que aqui se publica resultou de uma primeira selecção efectuada pela respectiva Comissão Executiva, seguida de um processo de avaliação realizado pela revista, de acordo com o procedimento habitual, que complementou a avaliação feita pela Comissão Científica do Congresso. Este número temático, com origem num evento científico, já faz parte de uma tradição que remonta ao n.º 7, de 2008, quando a revista se publicava ainda em suporte de papel. Este modelo previsivelmente irá ganhar maior importância nos próximos tempos, aliás, à semelhança do que tem acontecido em muitas revistas de grandes editoras internacionais, estando neste momento previstos números dedicados ao I Seminário Nacional de Conservação de Colecções Científicas, que, no próximo mês de Junho, se realizará no Museu Nacional de História Natural e da Ciência, em Lisboa; e ao II Colóquio “Investigações em Conservação do Património” que, em Setembro, ocorrerá na Faculdade de Belas-Artes da Universidade de Lisboa. Além disso, está em preparação um outro número temático, com origem diferente, sobre têxteis históricos, numa parceria com o grupo Textiles, Trade & Taste, da Universidade Nova de Lisboa, e o grupo de Conservação e Restauro da Universidade de Este número e os outros Current and other issues António João Cruz Director | Editor Maria João Revez Directora-adjunta | Associate editor Francisca Figueira Directora-adjunta | Associate editor Editorial Conservar Património 28 (2018)10 The theme of this issue – Rehabilitation – gives space to a field that, while often operating in the same physical spaces as Conservation and Restoration, it is distinct from the latter in terms of objectives [1], fields of action[2-3], and, logically, in terms of legal frameworks and professional training needs. If, on the one hand, this distinction should be heightened, and its dimming in Portugal in recent years should be a cause for concern and redoubled reflection [4]; on the other hand, it is also important to look for a space of articulation between the two specialties, in favour of more beneficial collaborations between the competences of their respective professionals. Thus, this room given to Rehabilitation in a place aimed par excellence at Conservation and Restoration was intended to address the request to promote some approximation between the two disciplines, but also, and above all, to contribute to the identification or clarification of some of the their differences and complementarities, in order to foster a cooperation that defends the professionals involved and, likewise, cultural heritage. A second aspect that should be highlighted regarding the current issue is the change in the publishing frequency of the journal. In 2005, Conservar Património was launched with a biannual frequency and thus remained, sometimes with difficulties, until the beginning of 2018. However, the significant increase in recent submissions, certainly resulting from the inclusion of the journal in the Scopus (2016) and Web of Science (2017) databases, coupled with a greater incidence of thematic numbers, also a consequence of this indexation, becomes difficult to manage within a periodicity of only two issues per year. Thus, in order for the articles not to wait too long in the (online) “In press” section, the journal, with this issue, begins a new phase, corresponding to the publishing of three issues per year – in January, May and September. It is, without a doubt, a step that deserves attention in this route started 13 years ago. Amesterdão, para o qual, neste momento, está a decorrer o período de recepção de manuscritos. O tema do número que ora se publica – a Reabilitação– dá espaço a uma especialidade que, muito embora opere frequentemente nos mesmos espaços físicos que a Conservação e Restauro, desta se distingue em termos de objectivos [1], de campos de actuação [2-3], e logicamente, de enquadramentos legais e necessidades formativas dos seus profissionais. Se, por um lado, importa acentuar esta distinção, cujo esbatimento nos últimos anos em Portugal deve ser causa de preocupação e redobrada reflexão [4]; por outro, importa também procurar um espaço de articulação das duas especialidades, em prol de colaborações mais profícuas entre as competências dos respectivos profissionais. Assim, o espaço dado à Reabilitação neste que também pretende ser, por excelência, um lugar da Conservação e Restauro, visou responder à solicitação de promover alguma aproximação entre as duas especialidades, mas também, e sobretudo, contribuir para a identificação ou clarificação de algumas das suas diferenças e complementaridades, por forma a incentivar uma cooperação em moldes que defendam os profissionais envolvidos e, bem assim, o património. Um segundo aspecto que importa destacar a propósito do presente número é a alteração da frequência de publicação da revista. Em 2005, esta surgiu com periodicidade semestral e assim se manteve, por vezes com dificuldades, até ao início deste ano de 2018. Porém, o significativo acréscimo de submissões recentemente ocorrido, certamente resultante da inclusão da revista nas bases de dados Scopus (2016) e Web of Science (2017), conjugado com a maior frequência de números temáticos, igualmente consequência dessa indexação, torna difícil a manutenção de uma periodicidade de apenas dois números por ano. Assim, para que os artigos não fiquem muito tempo a aguardar na secção (online) de artigos no prelo, a revista, com o presente número, inicia uma nova fase a que corresponde a publicação de três números por ano – em Janeiro, Maio e Setembro.
