Al hough he e is some e idence o he eso o Lucian’s Dialogues in
he con ex o G eek eaching in Po ugal in he six een h cen u y, he only
ex an ansla ion, published in 1540 by Jo ge Coelho, was subjec o an
exhaus i e e ision, hus being o li le help in unde s anding he use o he
sophis ’s wo ks as school ex s.3 Ne e heless, he pa a ex s o De Dea Sy ia –
