Me hods

o ou yea s om 2017 o 2020 (N = 239 in 2020). The
child en we e asked o wea a wais -wo n accele ome e o 7
days and mo o compe ence was assessed wi h 5-leap and side-
o-side jumping es s once a yea . La en p o iles we e
iden i ied based on mo o compe ence, and skele al loading
was es ima ed using an os eogenic index, which combines he
numbe o loading peaks in pa icula in ensi y ca ego ies akin
o coun ing s eps bu wi h accoun ing o he magni ude o he
impac .
Resul s
Th ee mo o compe ence g oups a ose om he da a o
bo h boys and gi ls and all g oups exhibi ed pe sis en low,
mid o high mo o compe ence h oughou he ollow-up.

ollow-up ( om os eogenic index 420 SD[80] o 300[90])
wi h no di e ence in he s eepness o he decline among
boys. Howe e , he lowes mo o compe ence g oup among
gi ls had a sligh ly s eepe decline in skele al loads han he
o he g oups.
Conclusions
he inding ha mo o compe ence is associa ed wi h skele al
loading among adolescen s was con i med in his longi udinal
s udy. No ably, gi ls wi h he lowes mo o compe ence had
he s eepes decline in skele al loading o e he ollow-up.
Policies aiming o imp o e undamen al mo emen skills
could be expec ed o imp o e skele al de elopmen pa icula ly
among less mo o compe en gi ls.
