Almos a decade ago, a s udy by Pe o Kalnius on he dialec ologis s' compa ison o lowland and highland languages showed ha " he mos impo an indica o o he p esen -day lowlande s in iden i ying and dis inguishing hemsel es om non-landlo ds is no he inhabi ed e i o y, bu he o he language" (Kalnius 2006: 116). Some maps ( he e a e equal numbe s o hem in bo h ci ies) indica e ha Li huanian is spoken h oughou , almos h oughou Li huania (app op ia ely desc ibed as all o almos all) o only in he coun y's majo ci ies and hei jokia a me juose mokslei iai neiden i ika o kai ku ių idu inėje (Kėdáinių, su oundings. In he Li huanian pa o he dis ic s, he e a e Ukme gs, Jona õs, Ši in and Kaišiado i o he sou he n pa (Š enčioni, Vlnia, Šačininkų).
