Regresyvinė balsių asimiliacija: nomenklatūrinė požymio kaita plungiškių požiūriu

Simona Vyniautaitė

Abstract

Straipsnyje nagrinėjama pagrindinio skiriamojo šiaurės žemaičių telšiškių ir kretingiškių patarmių požymio – regresyvinės balsių asimiliacijos – nomenklatūrinė kaita. Siekiama nustatyti, kiek Plùngės gyventojai suvokia regresyvinę balsių asimiliaciją kaip skiriamąją šiaurės žemaičių tarminę ypatybę, ir įvertinti šio požymio kaitą. Remiamasi dinamiškosios dialektologijos, perceptyviosios dialektologijos metodais.    Išanalizavus plungiškių informantų pastabas apie regresyvinę balsių asimiliaciją ir kitus tarminius šiaurės žemaičių patarmių požymius, nustatyta, kad balsių asimiliacija retai įvardijama šiaurės žemaičių patarmių skiriamuoju požymiu. Dažniausiai ši ypatybė pastebima, tačiau jai suteikiama nežymi diferencinė reikšmė. Svarbesniais, reikšmingesniais laikomi kiti fonetikos, morfologijos, leksikos skirtumai. Regresyvinė balsių asimiliacija taip pat siejama ir su netarminės kalbos įtaka.

DOI: doi.org/10.35321/all87-14 REGRESYVINĖ BALSIŲ ASIMILIACIJA: NOMENKLATŪRINĖ POŽYMIO KAITA PLUNGIŠKIŲ POŽIŪRIU Regressive Vowel Assimilation: Nomenclatural Change of Feature from the Point of View of Plungė Residents ANOTACIJA The article discusses the main distinguishing feature of the northern lowland telšiškių and kretingiškių patarmių […] regressive assimilation of the Balsi […] nomenclature change. The aim is to determine the extent to which the inhabitants of Plungė perceive regressive assimilation of the Balsi as a distinctive characteristic of the northern lowlands, and to assess the harm of this characteristic. It is based on the methods of dynamic dialectology and perceptual dialectology. After analyzing the comments of the informants on the regressive assimilation of the whites and other features of the Northern Territory councils, it was found that the assimilation of the whites is rarely referred to as a distinctive feature of the Northern Territory councils. Most often this feature is noticed, but it is given an unknown differential meaning. Other differences in phonetics, morphology, and lexicon are considered more important and significant. Regressive assimilation of the Balsi is also associated with the influence of the non-Tarminian language. ESMINIAI ŽODŽIAI: šiaurės žemaičių patarmės, regresyvinė balsių asimiliacija, tarminių požymių nomenklatūra, tarminių požymių kaita, kalbinės nuostatos. This Regulation shall enter into force on the twentieth day following that of its publication in the Official Journal. The article addresses the nomenclatural change of regressive vowel assimilation as the main distinguishing feature of the subdialects of the Northern Samogitian of Telšiai and Articles of the Treaty Regresyvinė balsių asimiliacija: nomenklatūrinė požymio kaita plungiškių požiūriu Kretinga. It attempts to determine to what extent the residents of Plungė are aware of regressive vowel assimilation as the distinguishing feature of Northern Samogitian and to evaluate the change of this feature. The article draws upon the methods of dynamic dialectology and perceptual dialectology. After analysing the comments provided by the informants from Plungė on regressive vowel assimilation and other dialectal features of Northern Samogitian subdialects, it was established that vowel assimilation is rarely considered a distinguishing feature of Northern The Samogitian subdialects. This feature is usually observed but it is assigned a marginal differential value. Other phonetic, morphological and lexical differences are considered more important and significant. Regressive vowel assimilation is also associated with the influence of non-dialectal speaking. KEYWORDS: Norther Samogitian subdialects, regressive vowel assimilation, nomenclature of dialectal features, change of dialectal features, linguistic attitudes. The Commission shall be empowered to adopt delegated acts in accordance with Article 26 to supplement this Regulation by laying down detailed rules for the application of this Regulation. In the 21st century, linguistic variability studies are becoming significant not only for the realization of the linguistic characteristics of a given variant, but also for the linguistic provisions of consumers, their linguistic self-identification. They influence both the actual use of one or the other variant and the possible (non) survival, provide additional data to understand, evaluate the variability of the language, help to develop a prognostic model (see Aliūkaitė, Bakšienė and others 2014: 130; Aliūkaitė, Mikulėnienė, Čepaitienė, Geržotaitė 2017: 19). For this reason, perception is considered to be one of the components of the applied research model in multimodal dialectology (Aliūkaitė, Mikulėnienė, Čepaitienė, Geržotaitė 2017: 3151; Mikulėnienė, Meiliūnaitė 2017: 169195; Mikulėnienė 2020: 1133 and others). The use of different methods of perceptual dialectology is increasingly conducting research on the geolinguistic competence of users of a particular linguistic variant (or variants), e.g. the representation of the spoken and common language, the native language, the evaluation of spoken speech (Aliukayte, Mikulėniė 89[…]120; Aliukayte, Mikulėniė, Čepaitienė, Geržotaitė 2017; Bakšienė 2019: 1[…]17; Geržotaitė: 1[…]25; Aliukayte, 2019, Mikulėniė, Mikulė, 2020). A study of the language's variability and its evaluation from the perspective of perceptual dialectology, which also analyzed the attitudes of members of the Plunges community, shows that younger Plunges consider the Plunges area, i.e. the language's homeland, to be the highest degree of proficiency, compared to 967 young people who use the language (Aliukaitė, Čeulėnienė, Mikpaitienė, Geržotaitė, 97, 129; Aliukaitė, Mikulaienė, 2019: 11). Expected to be absent SIMONA VYNIAUTAITĖ 294 of the Act Linguistica Lithuanica LXXXVII on the conflict between the provisions of consciousness and unconsciousness. It should be noted that, from the point of view of young people in other areas, Plungė is more often considered the most linguistically marked zone than other areas located in Žemaitija (Aliūkaitė, Mikulėnienė, Čepaitienė, Geržotaitė 2017: 280). Of all the cities in the Žemaitija region, the most active use of the language code is in Plungė, where members of the community are most likely to encourage children and young people to speak the language (Kliukienė 2014: 3, 11). Optimistic trends are also indicated by the kalbančiu žmogumi. Plùngės gimnazistų požiūriu svarbią vietą užima pagarba, reikšmingesnę negu kitų tirtų vietovių jaunuoliams (Aliūkaitė, Mikulėnienė, plunger-declared connections with the spelling code, spelling Čepaitienė, Geržotaitė 2017: 97). It is precisely the association of respect, patriotism, language as a natural, innate code that prevails among the various generations of plungers, who pointed this out during the implementation of the project Modern geolinguistic research in Lithuania: optimization of the point network and interactive dissemination of linguistic information1. The plunger is a fixed self-forming geolectical zone, one of the forming terrestrial regions (for more information on the new intermediate rocks, see Aliūkaitė, Mikulėnienė 2014: 3940; Berruto 2010: 235236; Auer 2005: 742) (see. Figure 1 and 2. ). It is emphasized that this geolect is stable. From an ethno-cultural point of view, Plungė is not perceived as a peripheral zone or periphery of the region. In the proposed spatial structure of the current ethnic self-determination region of Žemaitija, Plungė belongs to the region's Branduoli (Petrulis 2005: 168). Plungė is also classified as an ethno-cultural district of Žemaitija in the new complex structure of ethno-cultural regions (Ragauskaitė 2016: 176[…]179)2. Thus, the surroundings of Plungė could be regarded as having a fairly strong ethno-cultural and linguistic basis, allowing the members of the community to easily perceive themselves as lowlanders and identify with this region. However, it is unclear to what extent the plungers are able to identify themselves with the Kretingian advice from a linguistic point of view and, on the contrary, to distinguish themselves from the Telšians through the main feature of these advice that differentiates them from the regressive assimilation of the Balsians. This distinctive feature, its implementation, has been analyzed in the variants of the language used by the population of Plungė (LKA 156), but the approach of the speakers themselves to assimilation, its nomenclature value has not yet been studied (Vyniautaitė 2020: 119; 2021). Thus, the object of this article is the regressive ballistic assimilation nomenclature change. 1 In general, all Cretans and Telshans perceive the language more as a sign of oral identity, an ethnic value (Aliūkaitė, Bakšienė and others 2014: 136137, 140). 2 Although it has a strong ethno-cultural, regional identity, it has not been a significant centre like, for example, Vaniai, Raséiniai, Krãžiai (Kalnius 2012: 163164). Several phonetic characteristics of the dialects that are common to both northern lowland Kretingian and Telšian traditional dialects have been recorded in the Plunge: • bilingual ie, uo is translated as [eɪ], [o], e.g. [ˈkjeɪtjɪs] ~ hard, [ˈjodjɪs] ~ black; • The long vowels of the word "stone" and "crossed limb" are pronounced twice, e.g. "o". : ♪ I'm the one you're looking for ♪ ♪ I'm the one you're looking for ♪ • unplanned end vowels i, u, derived from ancient long vowels i, u, e.g. : ♪ I'm the one who's the one ♪ ♪ I'm the one who's the one ♪ It's called the vine. It's called the vine. It's called the vine. [torgos] ~ turgus (English name) • monosyllabic vowels ai, ei, for example: [dɑˈrɑː] ~ darai, [sɑˈkjɛː] ~ sakei; • the vowels a, e before the long stem are pronounced short, e.g. [rɑtɑː] ~ ratai, [mɑtː] ~ metai; • unused afrikatos č, dž (except where there is no change with t, d, as well as in consonants, vowels), e.g. [ˈjɑtjs] ~ jaučius, [ˈgɑɪdjs] ~ gaidžius; • characteristic of the reduction of the limbs, e.g. [ˈdɛd] ~ deda, [ˈeɪnɑ] ~ šieną; • characterized by a universal separation of the kidneys, e.g. […]varlė[…], […]je[…]mɑ[…][…] žiema. The main distinguishing feature of the northern lowland telšiški and kretingiški councils is the regression of the short ballots of the unable ones i, u assimilation (see Rokaitė 1961: […]153; Girdenis 1962: 149: 141[…]150; LKTCh 2004: […]237; Zinkevičius 2006: […]239[…]241 and kt.; see also Vyniautaitė 2021: […]15[…]25). In the area of the northern lowlands, the votes are divided in all cases (e.g. [ˈlepjɪ] ~ lipi, [ˈoɪnj] ~ šunį), and the representatives of the telšiški patarm keep these balls narrow (e.g. [ˈlɪpjɪ] ~ lipi, [ˈnjɪ] ~ šunį) against the short and long sounds of the upper rise. Regressive assimilation of voters may take place in the following cases: 1. The trumpet of the unable i, u (balsio i assimilation occurs only before the softer verb), e.g. [ˈgljɪ] ~ guli, [ˈgɪljɪ] ~ gili; 2. When the vowels i, u enter the double il, and, ul, ur, the double compound ui, e.g. [ˈsjmlj] ~ smilčių, [ˈgjɪrjdjɪ] ~ girdi, [ˈdûljkj] ~ dulkių, [ˈgûrjkjjnjs] ~ gurkšɪ, [ˈpkjɪ] ~ excellent; 3. when the vowels i and u are of another origin (in binary [on], [om], [en], [em] from an, am, en, em, e.g.: [ˈluŋgs] ~ langus, [smjˈdjːs] ~ samdys, [pjˈjɪŋjɪs] ~ penkis, [ɪtjkjmjsjɪ] ~ tempsi; long [oː], [eː]·ish ą, ę, e.g. [ɪˈkûːsjɪ] ~ intokąsi, [ɪjˈsjpjrjːsjɪ] ~ to break out; in the twos, [eɪ], [o] from ie, uo, for example: [ljɪɪpjns] ~ July, [ˈpûːds] ~ puodus). In Plung (LKA 156), as in the entire Kretingiškių patarmės area, the votes i, u neturėtų būti platinami prieš aukštutinio pakilimo garsus. Vis dėlto regresyvinė balsių asimiliacija Plùngės apylinkėse fiksuota: pažymėta, kad negalūniniai votes i, u, as well as the two-digit il, and, ul, ur the first pieces that make up the i, u, are influenced by assimilation (Zinkevičius 1966: map. No. 19, 464; see also footnote. This is No. 70. Straipsniai / Articles 297 Regresyvinė balsių asimiliacija: nomenklatūrinė požymio kaita plungiškių požiūriu 515; žemėl. Nr. 71, 516); regresyvinės balsių asimiliacijos galėtų būti veikiami dvibalsiai [eɪ], [oʊ] iš ie, uo (Zinkevičius 1966: žemėl. Nr. 58, 503, žemėl. No 59, 504, to the floor. No 61, 506); and It is also possible to maintain narrow sporadic kai kirčiuoti pusilgiai i, u (Grinaveckienė 1982: 38). The effect of assimilation is also confirmed by the analysis of handwritten oral material of the second half of the 20th century […] before the sounds of elevation, the voices i, u are often unplated (Vyniautaitė 2018: 151, 156[…]158). However, quantitative studies based on dialectometric methods show that this feature does not have a significant impact on the differentiation of northern lowland Kretingian and Telšiškian advice (Mikulėnienė, Čepaitienė and others 2019: 229 […] 270, 312) (see Fig. 2). In the spoken variants of the Plunges (LKA 156) there are cases of regressive assimilation of the vowels, somewhat more varied in the short vowels i, u, not included in the compound of the digits (Vyniautaitė 2020: 119; 2021: 103119). Thus, regressive assimilation of voices can be regarded as a rather varying linguistic feature. and to assess the nomenclature Šio straipsnio tikslas – nustatyti, kiek Plùngės (LKA 156) gyventojai suvokia regresyvinę balsių asimiliaciją kaip skiriamąją šiaurės žemaičių tarmidamage of this feature. Assimilation of languages as a differential linguistic feature The regressive assimilation of the Balsi in the earlier classifications of the territories was not given greater significance […] Antano Baranausko and Antano Salio, who revised the division of the territories of Kazimierz Young, in the classifications of the northern territories were generally not assigned to the advice (see Salys 1933: map to the church; Salys 1992: 30 […] 36; Geržotaitė 2014: II map and comment; Geržotaitė […] 179; Mikulė 142 […] 177). This linguistic feature began to be considered as the main distinguishing feature of the northern lowlands in the classification of Lithuanian dialects by Zigmó Zinkevičius and Aleks Girdenis (Girdenis, Zinkevičius 1966: 139147) (see Fig. 4). It has been argued that the northern lowlanders themselves are characterized by intuitive characteristics of the kretingian and telšiški šnektus, whereas the kretingians usually observe regressive assimilation of the balsi in the Sedõs, Telši, Mósėdžio and kt. districts, and the representatives of the telšiški patarmė pay attention to the balsi i, u distribution before the sounds of the altitude rise (Girden 1981: 23). Although few, there are recorded cases of assimilation in Plungė (LKA 156) entering, dinta kaip ryškus tarminis požymis, skiriantis nuo kaimyninės patarmės vietoe.g. […]šuni[…] če says Telšē, telšėškė, Plungė says […]šoni[…], and če […]šuni[…], če […] Telšē. Jesus, no, if he's married, he'll come, he'll wear a windbreaker with us too, he'll go, and Vuokitė went yesterday, I mean, she's a telchyshka, and if she's married and ton anuos tuoki k ski, well, I already have a tektra plungėškė. Well, I say, say what the goalkeeper says, say what the goalkeeper says, and Ana says "shuni", and I say what the Plunger says "shoni". My father is a good man, and my father is a bad man. That is why (PLN_VID_M3); You can say "bulb" if you want to say "bolb" in Plungie. Platelē, Plungė clarified in […]bolviu[…], clarified in […]bolviu[…], clarified in Articles of the Treaty Regresyvinė balsių asimiliacija: nomenklatūrinė požymio kaita plungiškių požiūriu (PLN_VID_M3)3. This is the case for: The Pastebimà balsio u and the same balsio, which enters the doubling composition, assimilation in crossed positions, in which this feature is plunging according to the variants of the spoken languages and is more consistent (see Vyniautaitė 2021: 103[…]119). She undoubtedly refers to this feature as a very bright terminological feature that distinguishes plungers from representatives of the telishkian consonant. In the case of the "reverse-transliteration" of the text, the transliteration of the original text is not the same as the transliteration of the original text, but the transliteration of the original text is the same as the transliteration of the original text, and the transliteration of the original text is the same as the transliteration of the original text. the number (PLN_VYR_V3)4. The certainty of observing the differences in the pronunciation and pronunciation of the sounds of the northern lowlands in relation to the rise in altitude, on the one hand, shows the differential power of the regressive assimilation of the voices, its recognition from the point of view of the speaker, and on the other hand, it is worth considering whether without theoretical linguistic knowledge assimilation would also be perceived as a distinctive feature. As can be seen, the provisions of the informants vary from considering complete assimilation as an easily recognizable and linguistic characteristic of the northern lowlands to a certain knowledge. It is not surprising that the ability of both of these speakers to recognize assimilation is related to their specific knowledge of the linguistic peculiarities of the Low Countries. 1.2 The assimilation of voices as a blank terminology There are more frequent recorded cases where regressive assimilation of whales has not been observed, it has not been named as a distinct terminological feature. The distribution or non-distribution of the ball in the corresponding position is essentially considered insignificant, e.g. well, […]šoni[…], we […]zoiki[…], […]zuiki[…], […]zoiki[…], well, if you have a father, maybe somehow the evolution of the father in this language, well, k[…]p sak[…]tė. Well, I don't know, I didn't notice myself, I didn't notice, I didn't notice, I didn't notice, I didn't notice, I didn't notice, I didn't notice, I didn't notice, I didn't notice, I didn't notice, I didn't notice, I didn't notice, I didn't notice, I didn't notice, I didn't notice, I didn't notice, I didn't notice, I didn't notice, I didn't know, I didn't know, I didn't know, I didn't know, I didn't know, I didn't know, I didn't know. In the opinion of the informant, the most important feature is the žemaitiškai žmonių. Asimiliacijos reikšmės neįžvelgiama ir išgirdus kalbant telšiškių patarmės intonation, which is generally quite often noticed, especially in the non-speaking representatives and in the suggestion of the two areas belonging to the northern lowlands. 4 The contributor is interested in matters related to the Zemstvo, the writing of the landlords, the peculiarities, sometimes he writes the texts himself in the Zemstvo. SIMONA VYNIAUTAITĖ 300 of the Lithuanian Language Act LXXXVII (Plunges, Skuõdo) the grammatical features, e.g. ėš your speech is like that of a Plunges or some kind of game. [...]. Father did not disclose much (PLN_VYR_V3). Look at the tumu, bet Skouds panašē šnek (PLN_VID_V2). Anėi  telšėškē, bet mes esam krescratching, but it's scratching, it's obvious that the father is married, it's obvious that he's already asked the father for some kind of sound, he's already seen the father scratching, it's already a simple snack, it's... it's already been eaten by the father. Thus, it can be said that the value of the distinctive features is reduced, the recognition of these characteristics essentially requires a great deal of attention, listening, and the northern lowlands are generally understood as quite a unitary area from a linguistic point of view. It should be added that the linguistic unity of the northern lowland telšiškių and kretingiškių was also confirmed by a quantitative study (Mikulėnienė, Čepaitienė and others, 2019: 229270, 312). It is significant that the alertness, the alertness to hear phonetic differences is also confirmed by the thought of the other informant, e.g. not knowing, k[…]p to ce dab[…] to go to this voice, I may not have noticed this voice (PLN_JAUN_V2). It was difficult to distinguish certain phonetic differences in this case, where lexical differences, such as the use of the words knuisis, kiocis from the Kretingõs, the inhabitants of Mósėdžio, were more easily noticed. More often, regressive assimilation of voices was highlighted as an unnoticed sign by listeners. The most striking differences between the two are the pronunciation of the word, the pronunciation of surnames, e.g. that somehow, mon atruod, the wind comes from this root that […]t[…]p[…], […]tēp[…], that, well, I didn't say anything, and no more, mon atruod, that I killed you (PLN_VID_M1); Somehow I remembered my saying in the telephone, that we say Bernuotalė, -kalė, vuo anėi says -ktė (PLN_VID_M2). His name is Bernuotalė, and his name is Bernuotė (PLN_VYR_M2). Pakláus may have heard some differences between the representatives of the telšiškių patarmės and the Skuõdo, although in short, a different Afrikaans pronunciation is mentioned, e.g. negėrdo, tikts diemesi, so that the vat does not smell […]č[…], but […]t[…] more (PLN_VID_M1). It is important to note that the P.A.R. (P.A.R. No. 156) falls within the same area as the P.A.R. (P.A.R. No. 156) (in all forms, except for a certain exception, presumably T.D.) and should theoretically not be distinguished (L.A.R. No. 1970: 19; V.A.R. No. 1982: 95, map No. 80; L.A.R. No. 1992: 2325; L.A.R. No. 2004: 247, 258). However, the assessment of current variability should take into account possible changes, but it is clear that the representation of different sub-regions of Africa is much more pronounced than assimilation. 5 This is confirmed by the comments of the landowners themselves, e.g. the author of the article had to hear from Telšiai the concern, even indignation, of the women who came from the land, because, according to her, the people whose hometown is Telšiai do not say so, they say landowners; According to Rietaviškė, Plungė, Telšija is different from Rietãvo, Tvẽrų is different from Afrikatų, and Vanių Articles of 307 Regresyvinė balsių asimiliacija: nomenklatūrinė požymio kaita plungiškių požiūriu In the year 2005, the Zemaitiya ethnic self-determination region was established. – The geographical metric 38(1), 163175. SIMONA VYNIAUTAITĖ 308 Acta Linguistica Lithuanica LXXXVII Regressive Vowel Assimilation: Nomenclatural Change of Feature from the Point of View of Plungė Residents Summary The article addresses the nomenclatural change of regressive vowel assimilation as the main distinguishing feature of the subdialects of the Northern Samogitian of Telšiai and Kretinga. The informants tend to consider regressive vowel assimilation a distinguishing and weak dialectal feature, but it is not considered a characteristic feature. Other phonetic, morphological and lexical differences are considered more significant. It is noteworthy that another value category comes into play when assimilation is understood as a feature of non-dialectal speaking. in this case, vowel narrowness is associated with the expression of standard language. The research findings reveal a rather high dialectal homogeneity of Northern Swahili from the point of view of the informants and imply that as linguistic variation increases, regressive vowel assimilation will not be perceived by community members as a more easily recognizable dialectal feature with high differential power.
