Secondly, unila e al coe ci e measu es se iously impede he achie emen o he
Sus ainable De elopmen Goals. The 2030 Agenda o Sus ainable De elopmen
emphasizes ha all coun ies should bene i equally om he di idends o
de elopmen and u ges coun ies o e ain om p omulga ing and implemen ing
unila e al economic, inancial o ade measu es ha a e con a y o he Cha e
and in e na ional law. Howe e , a hand ul o coun ies, including he Uni ed S a es,
ha e con inued o capi alize on hei hegemonic economic and inancial powe o
equen ly impose unila e al sanc ions on o he coun ies, he eby se iously
dis up ing no mal economic and ade coope a ion among he coun ies conce ned,
g a ely h ea ening he s abili y o he global p oduc ion and supply chains,
unde mining ood, ene gy and inancial secu i y, and se iously dis up ing he wo ld
economic o de and he e o s o he coun ies conce ned o achie e he SDGs.

adop ed a esolu ion e e y wo yea s opposing unila e al economic measu es as a
means o poli ical and economic coe cion agains de eloping coun ies. Since 1992,
he Assembly has adop ed a esolu ion e e y yea u ging he Uni ed S a es o end
i s economic, comme cial and inancial emba go agains Cuba. And since 1997, i has
adop ed a esolu ion e e y yea exp essing conce n abou he nega i e impac o
unila e al coe ci e measu es on human igh s. We call on he Uni ed S a es and he
ew o he S a es conce ned o heed he jus call o he in e na ional communi y and
o ully and immedia ely abolish hei unila e al coe ci e measu es. We call on he
