indi iduals. These we e aken by J. C. Nicholls, o Mu phy, N. C. a a locali y
14 mi. N. E. o And ews, Swain Co. on Janua y 19, 1954, and a e numbe s 2749
and 2751 in my collec ion. These ba s, a male and a emale, we e cap u ed in
man-made unnels which had been cons uc ed o he mining o alc; he a ea
is known locally as Talc Moun ain. The unnels in which he ba s we e ound
a e abou 80 ee deep, and bo h a e mois . One indi idual was aken in ligh in
he unnel and he second was secu ed as i hung om he wall o he unnel
app oxima ely 60 ee inside he unnel mou h. Since one o hese ba s was easily
dis u bed and was aken in ligh , i is possible ha on his da e Myo is s. leibi
may no ha e been hibe na ing. Nicholls indica es ha he has p e iously aken
wo o hese ba s in hese same unnels. O he ba s ound associa ed wi h Myo is
