Lack o aceabili y and adia ion e ec esponse a iabili y a e huge issues o o e come o he

p ojec co- inanced by ESA o explo e po en ial me hodologies o be applied o sol e his issue. They
a e mean a aking ad an age o he la ge p ocu emen s ha CERN ypically does wi h espec o he
smalle ones used in he space ield. I will also s udy he possibili y o using al e na i e es ing
echniques (e.g., lase ) o assess he esponse o de ice o ion s imuli and bound in a-lo and in e -lo
a iabili ies. In he con ex o his expe imen , a se o de ices was es ed wi h hea y ions o collec
in o ma ion on SEE c oss sec ions, and o s udy he a iabili y o c oss sec ions be ween DUTs.
Thanks o he da a collec ed wi hin his p oposal i is possible o explo e hea y ion SEE a iabili y
esponse in a wide a ie y o de ices. This migh shed mo e ligh on how o bound po en ial pa - o-
pa a iabili y when a less de ices a e es ed because o smalle lo p ocu emen s and es ed
sample sizes. C oss sec ion cu es as a unc ion o LET, and isualized da a on he di e ences
be ween he numbe o collec ed SELs pe DUT a e p esen ed in his epo .

Kap on in on o he DUTs while using he 16.3 MeV/n A -beam. The e o ba s ep esen 95 % con idence
limi s based on Poisson s a is ics o he SEL coun , oge he wi h a 10 % es ima ed luence unce ain y.

some mal unc ion du ing he es , and i has been excluded om he a e age c oss sec ion cu e in Figu e 5,
as well as om he esul s shown in Table 3.
ADS8320, ADC
The SEL c oss sec ion da a o he ADC ADS8320 a e shown in Figu e 6Figu e 2, oge he wi h i ed
Weibull unc ion pa ame e s. LET alues below 20 MeV/(mg/cm2) did no esul in any SELs, and only he
uppe c oss sec ion limi s a e shown in he igu e o hese da a poin s.
