IoT and SDN ne wo ks. eHDDP has been ho oughly
e alua ed in di e en scena ios and exhibi s good
scalabili y p ope ies since he numbe o equi ed
messages is p opo ional o he numbe o exis ing
links in he ne wo k opology. Mo eo e , he ob ained
disco e y and p ocessing imes a e small enough o
suppo scena ios wi h low mobili y de ices since hey
a e in he ange o hund eds o milliseconds.

I. SUMMARY
This submission p esen s enhanced Hyb id Domain
Disco e y P o ocol (eHDDP), a wo k p e iously published
in [1], i is an enhanced e sion o Hyb id Domain
Disco e y P o ocol (HDDP) [2], which allows i s use no
only in wi ed in e aces bu also in wi eless in e aces,
including low powe ed wi eless echnologies, in an
e icien way. eHDDP is he i s p oposal o e ing a
gene al solu ion o he p oblem o disco e ing ully hyb id
SDN ne wo k opologies comp ised o bo h So wa e
De ined Ne wo king (SDN) and non-SDN de ices wi h
wi ed and/o wi eless in e aces o he bes o ou
knowledge. Some in e es ing use cases o he disco e y
o wi eless hyb id SDN ne wo ks a e he in eg a ion o
Wi eless Senso Ne wo ks (WSNs) o he IoT ne wo ks
by he SDN con ol plane o manage and supe ise hem
in a mo e accu a e way. The main con ibu ions o his

minimize i s size o suppo echnologies wi h a small
Maximum T ans e Uni (MTU) size.
The de ini ion o a p o ocol logic o wi eless
in e aces. This new logic conside s he numbe o
neighbou s is unknown in a wi eless in e ace since
i may change wi h ime because o mobile de ices.
The de ec ion o bo h unidi ec ional and bidi ec ional
links in wi eless scena ios.
A e e ence implemen a ion o eHDDP comp ised
o a ne wo k agen in non-SDN de ices and an
applica ion in he SDN con ol plane by using
Open Ne wo k Ope a ing Sys em (ONOS) and he
OpenFlow p o ocol.
The enhancemen o p e iously exis ing ne wo k
emula ion ools o p ope ly deploy and pe o m
expe imen s wi h wi eless Ad-Hoc ne wo ks wi h
mul iple de ices.
