p oblem wi h mos o he d ugs; mos o he si es o ac ions o d ugs ( ecep o s, enzymes, ion
channels, and ca ie molecules) a e exp essed in o he si es/ issues/o gans and he ac ion
o d ugs in hese si es leads o in ole able side e ec s, poo d ug deli e y, and hen eme gence
o esis ance [4]. Pho o-pha macology is an eme ging mul idisciplina y ield ha combines
pho ochemis y and pha macology.[5]Buil upon he abili y o ligh o change he
pha macokine ics and pha macodynamics o bioac i e molecules, i aims a egula ing he
ac i i y o d ugs in i o by using ligh .[6] The ligh -based modula ion is achie ed by inco po a ing
molecula pho o swi ches such as azobenzene and dia yle henes so pho o cages such as o-ni o-
benzyl, couma one, and BODIPY compounds in o he pha macopho e.[7] This selec i e ac i a ion
o he biomolecules helps p e en o minimize o - a ge ac i i y and sys emic side e ec s.
