Ma e ials and me hods: The objec o he esea ch wo k was he he b o medicinal sel -heal.
The aw ma e ials we e ha es ed in June-July 2022 in na u al a eas a ound he Chimgan dis ic ,
ollowing gene ally accep ed ules o ha es ing, p ima y p ocessing, d ying, and s o age o
medicinal plan aw ma e ials. The analysis included isual s udy o he ex e nal mo phological
cha ac e is ics o aw ma e ials: shape, size, colo , s em ex u e, and lea es. Mac oscopic examina ion
was conduc ed in acco dance wi h he me hodological ecommenda ions o he S a e Pha macopoeia
o he Republic o Uzbekis an (I-edi ion).

Resul s and Discussions: Mo phological analysis o whole lea es, lowe s, and s em o
common black ho n showed ha he size o he s udied lea es anged om 4 o 7 cm (Figu es 1 and
2). Lea es a e simple, pe iola e, oblong-o a e o lanceola e, wi h a wedge-shaped base and a blun
apex. Uppe lea es sessile, se a ed. The s em is quad angula , ascending, eddish, glab ous in he
lowe pa , sca e ed-pilose along he ibs in he middle, and whi ish-hai y a he apex. The lowe s
a e small, anging om ed- iole o da k- iole , and a e ga he ed in dense, spike-like o capi a e
in lo escences. Flowe s on sho pedicels in alse who ls 2-4 cm long, bisexual, some imes wi h
unde de eloped pollen.
Conclusions: Mac oscopic examina ion o he abo e-g ound pa o common bun (P unella
ulga is L.) made i possible o iden i y diagnos ic ea u es impo an o he pha macognos ic
iden i ica ion o aw ma e ials. The ob ained da a can be used in he de elopmen o quali y s anda ds
o medicinal plan aw ma e ials.
