Rele ance: Lico ice (Glycy hiza spp.) is a genus o pe ennial legumes whose oo s a e widely
used in adi ional medicine as an expec o an , an i-in lamma o y, and an i i al agen . In Kazakhs an,
lico ice is ound in he s eppes and along mois i e loodplains, especially in he sou he n egions
(Tu kes an, Zhambyl, and Alma y egions). In ecen yea s, he e has been in ensi e ha es ing o
wild-g owing s ocks, which pu s he species a isk in some a eas. Objec i e: To cha ac e ize he
phy ochemical p o ile o lico ice oo s collec ed in he sou he n egions o Kazakhs an and o assess
he po en ial o lico ice o he phy omelio a ion o saline soils.
Ma e ials and Me hods: Raw ma e ial collec ion. Loca ions: h ee si es in sou he n

Ex ac ion. Sol en s: 70% me hanol (polyphenol p o ile), wa e ( adi ional), chlo o o m/e hyl
ace a e (lipophilic ac ions). Me hod: mace a ion o 24–48 hou s a oom empe a u e wi h a 1:10
a io ( aw ma e ial:sol en ), il a ion, and sol en e apo a ion unde acuum. Phy ochemical
analysis. To al phenolic ac i i y: Folin-Ceccal eu me hod (TPC), esul s exp essed as mg gallic acid
equi alen pe g o aw ma e ial (mg GAE/g).
Fla onoids: aluminum chlo ide complexa ion me hod. Field phy omelio a ion model.
Resul s: The 70% me hanol ex ac is cha ac e ized by he highes con en o phenols and
la onoids.

When lico ice is plan ed in sligh ly saline soils, a endency owa d dec eased o e all salini y

clima e and ini ial soil condi ions).

i s en i onmen al applica ion in phy omelio a ion.
