Ch onic de iciency o he ace elemen zinc is known o lead o immunode iciency. Zinc is an
e ec i e immunos imulan . Zinc is p esen in all in e nal o gans, issues, luids, and almos 100% o
he body's enzyma ic sys ems. Zinc ac s as a "seconda y media o " o immune cells and signi ican ly
sho ens he du a ion o in lamma ion. When a pe son ca ches a cold, a la ge amoun o zinc is
consumed in he i s ew hou s, and he need o i inc eases 6-8 imes. Zinc has an i-in lamma o y,
an ioxidan , and an ibac e ial p ope ies. Zinc educes suscep ibili y o acu e lowe espi a o y ac
in ec ions. Zinc ions s imula e he p oduc ion o endogenous α- and γ-in e e ons, which also exe
an i i al ac i i y, including agains COVID-19.
Based on he abo e, a a ge ed syn hesis and s udy o he physicochemical p ope ies o a
mixed-ligand coo dina ion compound o Zn(II) wi h bioligands—glu a ic (GLA) and nico inic (NA)
acids—was conduc ed.
Zinc ni a e and sodium hyd oxide o analy ical g ade we e used in his s udy. The ligands we e
glu a ic (GLA) and nico inic (NA) acids o pha macopoeial g ade. The isola ed compound was
analyzed o me al con en using complexome ic me hods. The mel ing poin o he esul ing
complex was de e mined using a TU-25 appa a us. To es ablish he pu i y and iden i y o he ob ained
complex, X- ay di ac ion pa e ns we e eco ded using a DRON-2.0 se up wi h a coppe
an ica hode. IR spec a we e eco ded using a PERKIN-ELMER FTIR spec opho ome e in he 400-
4000 cm-1 ange. The mal analysis was pe o med using a F. Paulik, J. Paulik, and L. E dey
de i a og aph (MOM, Hunga y).
Syn hesis o Zn(GLK-2H)(NK)∙2H2O: 0.006 mol NaOH and 0.006 mol NK we e dissol ed in
5 ml o wa e . A solu ion o 0.006 mol NaOH and 0.006 mol (GLK) in 5 ml o wa e was added o
he sodium sal o NK. When 0.006 mol o an aqueous solu ion o Zn(NO3)2 was added o he ligand
solu ion, a p ecipi a e o med, which was s i ed on a magne ic s i e o wo days. The p ecipi a e
was il e ed and washed se e al imes wi h wa e and e he .
The composi ion and some physicochemical p ope ies o he syn hesized complex compound
a e gi en in Tables 1 and 2.
