assessmen o i s pha maceu ical and bioac i e p ope ies ep esen a ele an ask.
Aim o he s udy. The main aim o his s udy was o iden i y la onoids p esen in he ex ac s
o ege a i e pa s o Allium mo o using high-pe o mance liquid ch oma og aphy (HPLC), o
de e mine hei quan i a i e p opo ions, and o subs an ia e hei pha maceu ical signi icance.
Me hods. As esea ch objec s, e hanol ex ac s we e p epa ed om he lea es and bulbs o
Allium mo o . Analy ical es s we e ca ied ou using an Agilen HPLC sys em ope a ing wi h
ChemS a ion so wa e. A diode a ay de ec o (DAD) was used a wa eleng hs o 254 nm, 265 nm,
and 281 nm. S anda d e e ence subs ances such as apigenin, u in, and es e a ol we e applied o
compa ison.
Resul s. HPLC analysis con i med he p esence o se e al la onoid compounds in Allium
mo o ex ac s. Thei ela i e con en s a e p esen ed in Table 1.

dis inguished by i s ichness in bioac i e compounds. Thus, ex ac s o his plan may ep esen a
p omising sou ce o he de elopmen o new phy opha maceu icals.
Conclusions. Allium mo o is ich in la onoids, wi h abinin, apigenin, u in, and es e a ol
being he main componen s. The chemical composi ion o he plan con i ms i s an ioxidan and
pha maceu ical po en ial. The indings p o ide a scien i ic basis o he de elopmen o new
phy op epa a ions and hei use in clinical pha macy.
