Objec i e o he s udy:
To de e mine he possibili ies o g owing Tien Shan sp uce (Picea sch enkiana) om seeds in
he condi ions o Tu kes an and o iden i y he op imal condi ions o hei ge mina ion and u he
g ow h.
Ma e ials and me hods:
As he sou ce ma e ial, sp uce seeds ob ained om Tu key we e used. Be o e sowing, hey
we e p e-soaked and kep in a he mos a a 22 °C in mois sand. A o al o 30 seeds we e used o
he expe imen . The seeds we e sown in a mix u e o sand and pea a a empe a u e o 24 °C and a
humidi y le el o 60 %. The plan s we e egula ly wa e ed and e ilized wi h mine al elemen s e e y
15 days.
Resul s:
A e 58 days, he i s sp ou s appea ed, and on he 69 h day, 23 o he 30 seeds ge mina ed
(wi h a ge mina ion a e o 76.6 %). A e 3 mon hs, he a e age heigh o he seedlings eached 2.8
cm, and by 6 mon hs, i had eached 4.7 cm. Regula e iliza ion con ibu ed o he ac i e g ow h and
de elopmen o he seedlings.
Conclusions:
The expe imen showed ha seed p opaga ion o he Tien Shan sp uce is possible in he
condi ions o he Tu kes an egion, p o ided ha he op imal empe a u e and humidi y condi ions
a e main ained. This me hod can be used o in oduc ion and landscaping p ojec s, as well as o he
conse a ion and expansion o he ange o coni e ous species.
