cus oms, eligious belie s, olk wisdom and emo ions. The a o maqom, songs, i ual and ly ical
songs o he Uzbek people a e i id examples o such a ich he i age.
Mode n music, on he o he hand, was o med as a esul o echnological p og ess, global in o ma ion
lows and he need o indi idual exp ession. I includes such di e se di ec ions as pop, ap,
elec onic, ock, and mainly exp esses pe sonal emo ions, social e en s, li e anxie ies o he desi e
o eedom.
In oday's music scene, hese wo ypes o a a e in eg a ing wi h each o he and a e appea ing in new
o ms. In some mode n songs, musical solu ions combined wi h adi ional ins umen s ( o example,
du o , ubab, doi a) o olk melodies a e a ac ing many lis ene s.
Thus, adi ional music is like a oo , and mode n music is like a b anch and a ui . The wo a e no
opposi es, bu a he complemen a y cul u al laye s. Th ough his ha mony, musical cul u e is
en iched, de eloped, and ises o new le els while p ese ing i s iden i y.

compose s, has been called an independen di ec ion by a ious names: olk music, adi ional olk
singing, classical music and o he s. Recen ly, mo e and mo e music has been called adi ional olk
singing.

ha adi ional melodies and s yles a e changing based on mode n echnologies, new s age
