The male o As a a nig icans was desc ibed by CAMERON (1889) om Poona (now Pune)
in Maha ash a, India. BINGHAM (1897) ea ed he species in his Fauna o B i ish India
wi h a edesc ip ion o he male. ROTHNEY (1903) epo ed A. nig icans om Ba ackpo e,
Wes Bengal, India. NURSE (1909) published a sho no e on mo phology and eco ded a
specimen wi h a "mo e o less ed" me asoma, wi hou men ioning whe e i was collec ed,
bu p obably i belongs o a di e en species. WU & ZHOU (1996) and HUA (2006) (bo h
ci ed a e PULAWSKI 2022) lis ed A. nig icans as a membe o Chinese auna. The p esen
pape p esen s he i s eco d om Laos and a desc ip ion o he hi he o unknown emale.
