Looking a cu en da a, we a e conce ned ha he gap be ween he demand o ad anced digi al skills and
he supply o sui able employees is becoming en enched. The e a e cu en ly a ound nine million people
employed as ICT specialis s in he EU – wo million mo e han i e yea s ago – and, based on ma ke ends,
we expec his igu e o con inue g owing. Bu al eady oday pos s o ICT specialis s in he EU a e going
un illed. This g owing s uc u al sho age mus be add essed, in o de o p ese e he inno a ion po en ial
and u u e compe i i eness o Eu opean businesses and jobs.
Uni e si ies ha e a s ong ole o play, bu i is no always easy o hem o adap hei cu icula o apidly

digi al expe s a e among he mos demanded p o essionals, almos all Membe S a es ace sho ages in key a eas,
