In he e a o Indus y 4.0, he seamless in eg a ion o ad anced echnologies has

ne wo ks, pa icula ly he g adual ansi ion om ou h o i h gene a ion (4G and 5G)
echnology. As ac o ies emb ace he connec i i y and speed p omises o 5G ne wo ks,
he e a ises an impe a i e need o assess and op imize mobile signal co e age wi hin hese
dynamic and o en complex en i onmen s [1–6].
“Sma ” ac o ies, bu also adi ional manu ac u ing acili ies and indus ial com-
plexes, necessi a e a mo e sui able echnical pla o m capable o handling a high olume o
da a, such as ha ob ained om a ious senso s, while ensu ing high eliabili y. In pu sui
o his goal, mobile and/o wi eless ne wo ks play a c ucial ole. As hese ne wo ks gain
ac ion, unde s anding aspec s such as signal co e age, eliabili y, and capaci y becomes
pa amoun o pe o mance op imiza ion and seamless connec i i y in demanding en i on-
men s, like ac o ies wi h a complex en i onmen (e.g., hea y indus y). The measu emen
and moni o ing o 4G/5G mobile signal co e age inside a ac o y eme ge as c i ical con-

Implemen a ion Cen e (NTUST), ocusing on pa ame e s such as ne wo k speed, la ency,
ji e , and packe loss a e. To conduc his analysis, ad anced measu emen equipmen was
employed, allowing o up o 100 use s in a i ual en i onmen . The s udy emphasized he
impo ance o he echnology used in he wi eless ne wo k, such as Wi-Fi 6 and E he ne ,
o enabling a sma ac o y en i onmen .

ame e s such as o al ecei ed da a, packe losses, and e- ansmissions. The s udy p e-
dominan ly elied on simula ions and cen e ed on e alua ing he pe o mance o di e en
schedule s u ilized in 4G/5G ne wo ks. One o he key indings o his s udy is he es ablish-
men o a di ec ela ionship be ween signal- o-in e e ence and a io (SINR), h oughpu ,
and packe losses measu ed a he use equipmen (UE).

conduc ed a a ious loca ions wi hin he ac o y, loca ed in he Czech Republic,
p o iding insigh s in o 4G/G5 ne wo k pe o mance.

3. Measu emen in he Fac o y En i onmen
In his sec ion, we in oduce ou measu emen equipmen and desc ibe he measu e-
men me hodology, as well as he me ics and so wa e (SW) ools used o se up ou
pe o mance e alua ion o 4G/5G mobile signal co e age in a ha sh ac o y en i onmen .
The p oposed concep is designed o allow epea able and au oma ed measu emen s. I can
be used o measu ing 4G/5G signal quali y me ics in a ious en i onmen s, no limi ed
o ac o y se ings, and is independen o he ime o day.
3.1. 4G and 5G Mobile Ne wo ks in he Czech Republic
As men ioned, he measu emen campaigns we e conduc ed in a ac o y loca ed in
he Czech Republic. P esen ly, mobile ope a o s in he Czech Republic suppo 2G, 4G,
and 5G mobile sys ems. In he case o 5G, ope a o s deploy 5G ne wo ks using a ious
adio equency (RF) bands wi hin F equency Range 1 (FR1). Speci ically, he ollowing
RF bands a e u ilized: 700 MHz (5G), 800 MHz (4G), 1800 MHz (4G and 5G), 2100 MHz
(4G and 5G)
, and 3500 MHz (5G) [

]. These RF bands we e selec ed based on hei echnical
cha ac e is ics and co e age op imiza ion. I is c ucial o no e ha all ealized 5G adio
access ne wo ks (RANs) a e in eg a ed wi h exis ing 4G ne wo ks, ope a ing unde non-
s andalone (NSA) a chi ec u e. This in eg a ion allows o seamless connec i i y and
enables a smoo h ansi ion o 5G echnology while le e aging he exis ing in as uc u e
o 4G ne wo ks [18].
The 700 MHz and 800 MHz RF bands a e ideal o wide co e age and pene a ion
in o indoo spaces. These RF bands a e sui able o achie ing ex ensi e a ea co e age and
op imizing signals in challenging en i onmen s wi h physical obs acles. Ope a o s u ilize
a bandwid h o 10 MHz in his RF band. The 1800 MHz RF band o e s mobile ope a o s
he abili y o p o ide highe da a a es and is op imal o u ban a eas wi h highe use
de ice densi y. In his case, ope a o s u ilize a bandwid h o 20 MHz, enabling e icien
da a ansmission in a eas wi h inc eased demand o b oadband connec i i y. To es ablish
mobile connec ions in s a egically signi ican u ban a eas and loca ions wi h high demand
o b oadband connec i i y, ope a o s employ he 2100 MHz and 3500 MHz RF bands.
In he 2100 MHz and 3500 MHz RF bands, ope a o s u ilize a bandwid h o 20 MHz and
40 MHz, espec i ely.

5. Conclusions
This pape ocused on on analyzing he 4G and 5G cellula signal co e age, h ough
long- e m measu emen campaigns conduc ed in a complex ac o y en i onmen . To
achie e his goal, we p oposed and implemen ed a simple and po able measu emen se up
along wi h an app op ia e measu emen me hodology.
Du ing he measu emen s, no signi ican e en s we e obse ed ha signi ican ly
a ec ed he adio da a ansmission o e he 5G ne wo k. This sugges s ha he 5G sys em
is qui e obus and esis an o in e e ence om indus ial ope a ions wi hin he ac o y.
Wi h he excep ion o Place no. 2, whe e signal s eng h was weak, he sys em emained
connec ed o he 5G ne wo k a all imes. In cases whe e 5G connec i i y ailed, he sys em
seamlessly swi ched o he 4G ne wo k, ensu ing con inuous connec i i y wi hou any
comple e loss o se ice. Du ing he measu emen s, he sys em consis en ly ope a ed wi hin
he n28 band, co esponding o a equency o 700 MHz, wi hou any changes in equency
band obse ed. Addi ionally, he e we e no ins ances o he sys em swi ching om one
ansmi e o ano he du ing he measu emen s a indi idual si es. The only occu ence o
swi ching ansmi e s was when he de ice was mo ed o a di e en measu emen si e
and powe ed back on.
The obse ed changes in signal s eng h and quali y be ween nigh and day a e
likely due o a ia ions in he numbe o de ices connec ed o he ansmi e , a he
han changes in a ic o in e e ence wi hin he indus ial plan . These luc ua ions a e
no iceable e en du ing weekends, indica ing ha hey a e no solely ela ed o weekday
ac i i y. The ansmi e s, loca ed in la ge shopping malls, expe ience high use connec i i y
du ing weekdays and weekends bu signi ican ly ewe use s a nigh . Addi ionally,
he e was a no able di e ence o app oxima ely 20 dB in signal s eng h be ween he
loca ion wi h he highes and lowes signal s eng hs, despi e bo h loca ions being simila ly
dis an om he ansmi e . This sugges s ha he ecei e ’s loca ion wi hin he building
signi ican ly in luences he ecei ed signal s eng h. The e a e se e al s a egies o a oid
low signals and luc ua ions in a complex ac o y en i onmen , including he ollowing:
signal moni o ing (p omp de ec ion o low signals o luc ua ions, enabling p oac i e
measu es o add ess hem be o e hey impac ope a ions), signal ampli ica ion (use o
signal ampli ie s o boos e s o s eng hen weak signals in a eas whe e co e age is poo ),
and an enna o ien a ion (p ope ly o ien ing an ennas can imp o e signal ecep ion).
