luga , se iden i ican las lagunas exis en es en el pano ama de los co pus pa alelos
bilingües y mul ilingües que incluyen el español como una de sus lenguas. A
con inuación, se exponen los c i e ios que han guiado el diseño y la a qui ec u a de los
co pus de PaCo ES. La sección p incipal del abajo se dedica a las ases de la
compilación de los co pus, con especial a ención al p oceso de alineado y de su

PaCo ES is a collec ion o bilingual co po a wi h Spanish as he cen al language
ha can be easily and eely que ied online. The oo s o he PaCo ES p ojec da e back
o 2015 wi h he c ea ion o he Ge man<>Spanish Pa allel Co pus (PaGeS)

conco dance ools based on he que y language used in he Co pus Wo kbench co pus
manage (Tiedemann, 2012). Ex e nal use s can con ibu e hei own pa allel esou ces
o he co po a collec ion (Aulamo and Tiedemann, 2019, p.1). A he ime o w i ing, 81
esou ces can be sea ched and downloaded o he Ge man/Spanish language pai , 122
o English/Spanish, 93 o F ench/Spanish and 19 o Chinese/Spanish.

languages. Bidi ec ionali y is pa icula ly c ucial because, in many cases, ansla ion
equi alen s a e no biuni ocal, i.e., he ansla ion o i em A (sou ce ex ) in o B
( ansla ion) does no necessa ily imply ha B (sou ce) is ansla ed back in o A
( ansla ion). A bidi ec ional co pus allows o he measu emen o he pe cen age o
mu ual co espondence (MC) be ween wo speci ic i ems, anging om 0% o no
co espondence o 100% o comple e co espondence. (Beng Al enbe g, 1999, p. 254).
