Composers can invite their fans to jubilee concerts, artists – to jubilee exhibitions, the lexicographer invited to the welcome of the first volume of the Kupiškis Dictionary – let’s call it an anniversary. There are few lexicographers in Lithuania who follow in the footsteps of their relatives. Klementina Vosylytė continues a professional dynasty, as her aunt and godmother was a well-known dictionary writer Bronė Vosylytė. Klementina Vosylytė was born in the region of Kupiškis, in the words of her mother, at the most beautiful river in Lithuania, Pyvesa, in the most pleasant corner of the land in Bakšnai. The future linguist finished her secondary school in Kupiškis and her higher education at Vilnius University, where she studied Lithuanian language and literature. Language subjects were taught to her by professors Juozas Balčikonis, Zigmas Zinkevičius, Vytautas Mažiulis, Jonas Palionis, Juozas Pikčilingis, Vincas Urbutis, Jonas Kabelka. Klementina Vosylytė 341 After graduating, Vosylytė immediately started working at the Institute of Lithuanian Language and Literature, in the Department of Language History and Dialectology (at that time in the sector). Together with other colleagues, he compiled a nomenclature of rivers and lakes of the Lithuanian SSR (1963) and soon began working in the Dictionaries Department. In an incredibly short time, he wrote a dissertation on comparative phraseologies of Lithuanian language. After defending her thesis in 1973, the linguist dived into the great Lithuanian dictionary and wrote, in her words, “as much as she could carry”. The texts written by Vosylytė have disappeared since volume IX, and edited since volume XII. After all, neither writing nor editing was easy, the texts were difficult and capricious. Vosylytė also collected data for the Lithuanian Language Atlas (vols. 1–3, 1977–1991). Another important area of the dictionary’s activity is word collection expeditions. She began to speak early. Vosylytė,,picked up the Kupiškis dialect, the wealth of folk words, – she aspired to write the fourth dictionary of living language. It took ten years to compile the repertoire alone, and as long for the text. The first volume contains about 90 author's arcs, apparently, and the number of others will be similar. The dictionary is alive, it is like a living being, which, like the authors of the dictionary, cannot be confused with anything else. It is a real bliss to dive into the ocean of words, so I do not agree with the author, who once said publicly that no one will read the dictionary as a novel: you read the dictionary like a book of wisdom, in which the long thread of the language of the ancients is stretched, from which the respectful and affectionate treatment of nature, the observance of a country man, the ability to rejoice, joke, gossip. It is worth remembering the words of literary scholar Viktorija Daujotytė that words disappear in the earth and bloom in dictionaries, revived by their flowers, by people who remember their lives. Vosylytė, who knows the rules of the art of lexicography perfectly, is invited to share her experience now. This is a whole series of dictionaries on which Vosylytė, as a text writer and editor, has worked or is working. the Zanavykų šnektos dictionary (1–3 vols., 2003–2006), the Kazlų Rūdos šnektos dictionary, the General Lithuanian 342 Languages Culture | 81 Vietnamese language dictionary. The Phraseologist has the idea to supplement the comparative dictionary of Lithuanian language published in 1985, in which many words simply could not be included at that time. In Vosylytė’s biography, the subjects of Lithuanian language practice also occupy an important place. She has published articles in various language – and not only – publications on comparative phraseologisms, sports language, etc. She began her friendship with the Language Culture Publication from the 3rd notebook: from one notebook to the next there are fibers of comparative phraseologisms. The linguist does not close herself in scientific bars, her word often appears in one or another publication published by her hometown. Close ties link the researcher with the schools and libraries of the Kupiškis district (the village, the alizava, the city of Kupiškis), which Vosylytė generously loves with the pen of the spirit – books. It is not easy to list all the researcher's works, far from everything is put together here, so let it be forgiven... Vosylytė once said: I do not stand out from the others, I am hardworking, duty-bound. but not only. Vosylytė is a colorful, diverse, non-conformist personality, boldly telling the truth in the face. Boredom and other nonsense don’t stick to her, she is more often accompanied by table tennis and volleyball, jokes and,,ubagagų bals“. Kupiškis region poet Uršulia tamošiūnaičia, who composed verses in dialect, wrote:,,Who can not care for himself well, the others will soon stop care for him“. so now about the awards. In 1996 the lexicographer Klementina Vosylytė (together with other colleagues) was awarded the Lithuanian Republic’s Science Prize for her work on the Lithuanian language dictionary, in 1998 she was awarded the King Mindaugas Medal for her work on the Lithuanian language dictionary and the collection of dialect material. On April 24, 2008, the Kupiškis District Municipal Council granted the researcher the title of Honorary Citizen of Kupiškis Region.
