In such cases, its meanings are differentiated as the meanings of individual words: the most common meaning is given first, followed by the less common one, and even further on the transitive one, if any. Such presentation of phraseologisms in the Dictionary of the Lithuanian Language would clearly distinguish them from free word combinations and figurative statements, which lack the most important features enabling phraseologisms to be regarded as linguistic units, which have become the object of research of phraseology as a separate — branch of linguistic science. The “Dictionary of the Lithuanian language”, by providing extensively processed phraseological material, would give rise to detailed studies of this interesting language phenomenon. In this article, new proposals for more accurate presentation of phraseologisms in the Lithuanian Language Dictionary are presented for consideration. If they prove sufficiently justified, they could be applied in subsequent ir volumes of the Dictionary. Meanwhile, the most urgent task is to eliminate — inaccuracies occurring in the practice of editing the Dictionary, arising from incorrect iš phraseological treatment. mų As mentioned above, phraseologisms in general have been studied very recently, phraseologisms of Lithuanian language, it can be said, have not o been studied at all. Without sufficient theoretical knowledge ir about the essence, characteristics and types of phraseologisms, it is always possible to distinguish them from free word combinations, jų because in ir dictionaries ne there are often inaccuracies in the raising of words, the iš interpretation of meanings by phraseologisms. ir to ir ir "Dictionary of the English Language". In further editing of the Dictionary, in an effort to ir distinguish and present phraseologisms properly, it is necessary to bear in mind the following most important points of lexicographical treatment and analysis of phraseologisms, due to which insufficient awareness in the lexicographical work leads to inaccuracies of errors. ir a) The word used only in phraseology is not independent, taken alone has no ir semantic meaning, therefore it is not possible, after removing the compound, to raise jį iš ir 16. come from the meaning of their components, a separate group is not distinguished and left in the illustration of word meanings. 2. Idioms are compounds of words whose semantic meaning is monolithic and unmotivated, i.e. does not derive from the meaning of the components that make up the word, and which cannot be literally translated into other languages. 3, Metaphorical phraseologisms are considered such constant, usually figurative-metaphorical word combinations, whose semantic meaning is only potentially related to the meaning of the components that make them up. (4) Compound terms, which have mainly been formed in Lithuanian folk language and which are nomenclatural names of objects or phenomena, are also considered phraseologisms. Those whose semantic meaning does not derive from the meaning of the components that make them up are classified as idioms, and those whose meaning has some, even distant, connection with the meaning of the components are classified as metaphorical phraseologisms. Various scientific, technical, production and other fields of composite terms, the meaning of which comes from the meaning of the components, are not considered phraseologisms. 5. A word used only in phraseology has no nominative meaning. Also, the meaning of phraseology can not be attributed to its component. Phraseology has a specific meaning and cannot illustrate the meaning of the word. 6.Each phraseology in the Dictionary must be highlighted in bold font as many times as it has full-meaning (and sometimes incomplete meanings, if the phraseology consists of incomplete meanings) words-components. But the meaning of phraseology should be explained and illustrated in the article of only one component. In the articles of other components, instead of the interpretation, it is necessary to refer to the word, in the article of which the meaning of phraseology is explained. 7. Explanation and illustration of phraseologisms should be given in the article of its main component-word. However, in the first edition of the Lithuanian language dictionary this principle cannot be observed, because it is not possible to refer to the interpretation of the meanings of phraseologisms in volumes I—II, which have not yet been published or have been published, where phraseologisms have not yet been introduced. Metaphorical phraseologies are given in the article of the source word after the illustration of the corresponding meaning behind the triangle (A), and idioms and those metaphorical phraseologies, whose meaning is not related to any of the meanings of the source word, are given at the end of the article of the word from a new line behind the diamond ({). to If there are more than one phraseology in one place of the word article, then they are placed in alphabetical order. However, phraseologisms of close semantics are grouped, even though this would contradict the alphabetical order. ir 9. Proverbs, proverbs ir and other figurative statements, which cannot yet be considered phraseologisms, are distinguished by the illustration of the meaning of the word at the end behind a separate sign, namely a canopy (A). :
