LITHUANIAN KALBOTYROS QUESTIONS XXXVI (1996) LITHUANIAN LANGUAGE: RESEARCHERS IR STUDIES Dahlia JAKULYTĖ MIXING OF NOUNS STONES "IN THE BOOK NOBACHNYSTĖS? The Reformed Printing House in Kėdainiai 1653 m. printed three Calvinist religious books on one common title page su "Book of the Christian Church". Thai Grzegorz iš Żarnowiec's Sum of the Gospels, iš translated from Polish by two Reformed theologians from Kėdainiai (S. Minvydo ir J. Bozimovski), as well as | jų prepared "Prayers Christian". Be to, there KN is still a hymn [10]. A. Jakulis has composed "Summa of Gospels", "Passion", "Christian Prayers" ir The H. registers of — words of the "Catechism", Siaurukiené [5, 6, 7, 8, 9]. | KN hymnal were not studied in detail; about is like some ja A. Jakulis Articles (some only manuscripts). It is believed KN to have been į written in the Middle High German dialect. A. Jakulis tried to identify even pages written by different authors, but here he relied mainly on the spelling of pronouns, conjunctions, particles[- 1, 2]. 2, 3, 4]. This article analyzes the roots of nouns, their use and jų interrelationships. Material collected from the iš above A. Jakulio ir Hi In the registers of Siaurukienė, nouns are grouped by stems, and the forms of various stems are examined. Ę Each dialect, each written monument of language are important compilations for linguistic research, because each one reflects a different situation. iš jų The nouns of some, "weaker", stems disappear, passing to į others, "stronger". In this respect, the "weaker ones", i.e. 4, u, nouns of consonant roots. : The weakest remaining consonant stems. They disappear as they cross the 1first į i trunk, o this in turn — į fo ir 3a stones. At present, the best preserved forms of consonant stems are n ir r root nouns, weaker — s trunk. KN such nouns are found 15: 10 n-kamieniy (stone, growth, geluo, trunk, shepherd, saw, fall, seed, water, dog), r-ka3 1 »BOOK Nobazniftes Christians | On the spot Diewuy TRAYCEY Stitch n toy Viennatium: Ant value BaZnicioms dides Kunigiftes Lietuvos ifduotd. (daughter, moté®, sister) and 2 s-trunks (cloud*, month) (see table 1). No. 1). Most of them do not have enough forms from which to determine the stem (for example, the noun grown is recorded only in one form). Specific forms of consonant stems make up only 38.7% of all recorded forms. Most of the consonant root forms are preserved in r-root nouns. Less — s-trunks and n-trunks. Specific forms of consonant stems are recorded only in five vowels (vns. vard., kilm., dgs. vard., kilm., inag.). The s-root nouns are most likely to pass to the io root (22% of the recorded forms — to the 0-root), slightly less so the n-roots (19%). Only r-root nouns do not have za-root forms at all. Only the singular forms of the nominative are recorded in the consonant stem alone. It is possible to say only about three nouns, all of which are recorded in the forms of the adjective stem: augmuo (only the singular noun augmenis is recorded), geluo (only the singular noun) and ruduo (only the singular noun and the singular form). —Bešių, KN found several i-stem nouns, which next to i-kamieniy forms in the plural genitive have the ending -ų after the hard consonant (dantis, dešimtis, durys, krūtys, naktis, priežastis). There are also several other forms of the adjective, but only one form of the adjective is used. The dominant singular form of the noun žmogus —u-kamienė (97x); The 4 times used form žmuo is considered a consonant, but it is not quite clear how to treat the 2 times used form človeks (this form is recorded only in the hymn, so it could have been shortened to achieve the required number of syllables in the line). In all other dialects, u-kamienė fieksija is used. The most abundant and best preserved is the 1st strain (see Table No. 2). Of the 88 lexemes, 38 Lithuanian words and 19 borrowed words have i-root forms, i.e. more than half. The best preserved of the "weak" trunks is the u trunk — all shapes of rocks. Only forms like vns are questionable. ward. person, pc ades. sūnump', sūnumpi, sūniep, vns. Ines. dangie (the latter two could also be o-stames). | Quite well preserved singular forms of ju-kamienés. Only two nouns have 10-stem forms (e.g. kilm. aukstiejo, in. mesijošiu). It is almost entirely covered by the 20th-century walls. But there are also several forms of the iu-stem used here: dgs. ward. non-jude (2x) and dgs. in. cross (1x). There is one noun shoots and four noun king u-trunk forms: vns. allies. I'm sorry. I'm sorry. kilm. King's, maybe. kings, in. 9 The noun motė seems to have branched into two lexems: motė, motės and moteris, moters. KN Only a few é-stame forms are recorded: the singular noun form motės (next to female and female, all once) and the genitive form motę (recorded times). du All other forms can be considered consonant stem. suo The form cloud is reconstructed conditionally, because the KN singular denominator is not fixedE.g. : You want to ident... ing ij tikietumim- ... dtmindami juog Diewds eft Tewu mulų /Sunump [avo /who gave us for the enemy dmžiną...KN 21411. 121
King's ir Scream. karalad®. Iš strong trunks more € interesting trunk. Several cases of strain mixing have been recorded due to the overlap of most funny forms (e. g. €- ir a-stem form words, whose stem ends in a consonant love I: love, || widow nasla, || seed seed). || True, things are intertwined du here: mixing of stems (paradigmatic) coexistent ir forms of different stems (with their paradigms). KN there are quite a lot of nouns with consonant forms: įoir kam. : pavietris i, pavietrė iir € kam. : industry industry chir || bagheera bagheera, € non-bagheera non-bagheera, || fellowship fellowship, a: honor honor, || help help, blessing || blessing chir | greatness || greatness, female female eir prisoner || prisoner "prison", || horned horned iir pagan pagan || ga: rotusius rotusia oir o: evangelista || etc. || 10: || || o: || du ir || evangelista | ū: || ir The forms of several stems, resulting from different adaptations, are often borrowed. However, quite a lot of Lithuanian ir words have difficult to explain coexisting forms of several stems (amžis amžius, žyda pavydas, giluma || || į || depth). True, most are abstract. jų There are few words of specific meaning with adjacent forms of different stems, all forms are clearly palindromic. ir ne But, for jų example, the variety of paradigms of e-kamieniy nouns ir kamiengaliu suggests su that it is not written in one [ particular dialect. KN | This could explain the lexems of several ir stems, but this is the subject of — further research. ; 6 KN they are written su in hard {, e.g. uglau I, Karalaus. 122
