In the field of special research on place names, we can also mention Ilona Mickiene- ’s doctoral dissertation (Mickiene 2001), in which, besides other toponymy classes, arealy oikonymia was also investigated, and the most productive types of place names were identified (ibid., pp. 59-80). The author discusses not only the officially used toponyms in the TelSiy district, but also the smaller residential place names, believing that such a division of the toponymy is meaningful, because it reveals certain characteristics of the construction and origin of the subgroups of the class of toponymy of Sias. Residential areas —villages, villages, manors, farms, farmsteads, their parts —are old, perhaps even the oldest territorial community units (cf. Kavoliuté 2004: 26). The number of them recorded in Marijampolė county forms is 589. Part (296 oikonimai) functions in the official user interface? and, as already mentioned, received a lot of attention. The origin analysis of the remaining part — 293 residential place names® — iSsami works has not yet been carried out. The aim of this article is to broaden the area toponymy research in the analysis of unofficial place names. This is the first publication that examines the names of places of residence written in the interwar period in the living language. Spoken place names are studied in terms of their construction based on the structure-- grammatical classifications chosen for hydronymy analysis by Aleksandrs Vanags and easily applicable to the study of other place name classes (subclasses) (Vanagas 1970: 21-27). Pronouns in the article are divided into primary and secondary j, the latter —j derivative (galiiniy, priesagy, prieSdéliy), compound and composed. In evaluating their origins after/iiiriu, the formulations of Vanagas are also followed- ‘Plagiau apie interwar Lietuvos ankety duomenis Zr. Swiderskiené (2005: 91). 2 Pronoun forms, you status to be specified according to the administrative-territorial division of the Lithuanian SSR Zinyng (d. 2, Vilnius, 1976; hereinafter —ATSZ); Vietovardziy Zodynq (Vilnius, 2002; back -VZ). ‘Compared with the data of the first general census of the population of Lithuania (Kaunas, 1925; hereinafter — LAV). 100 Place names of Marijampolė county are the basis for the evaluation of the Lithuanian origin of place names — the origin of a place name is understood as the source of the origin of the toponymic lexem, rather than as its genetic etymology (cf. Vanagas 1980). In the article, the names of unofficial places of residence are divided into groups according to the basic words from which they are derived: i$ common words (appellative), i3 other place names, i8 personal names and appellative names of persons and possible dual origins, where i8desto two, in the opinion of the author, possible origins of interpretation possibilities. All the Sources* used to identify the Base Words are given in two forms: one in brackets after the Sourced Base Word, the other, to avoid repetition, in the Sources abbreviation lists. Commonly used in other languages generic or actual words, oikonymy to explain the origin, taken from the Zodyny, list; required historical personal names — iS istoriniy asmenvardziu kartotekes (IAK). The abbreviations are also included in the abbreviation list at the end of the article. Names of places of residence, containing separated suffixes, data on density and the amounts determined by individual types of work are presented in the table in the annex (see tables 1, 2 and 3). Various abbreviations used in this article (objecty localization references) are taken from ir i8 LKI Instructions prepared for the Lithuanian Place Names Dictionary by the Namebook Section. In accordance with the author’s previous publications (cf. Sviderskiene 2005: 92-94; 2006: 51-52), the study of local toponymy begins with the analysis of primary and plural place names. 1. 18 NAME OF COMMON WORDS (APPELLATIVE LEXES) IN KILE PLACES OF RESIDENCE 1.1.
